YG DD40 - which dial is best for legibility?

I've decided to buy a new YG DD40, and legibility is one of the considerations.

My eyes are definitely not what they used to be, and I've found telling time with any of the champange dials to be a tad challenging in anything other than brightly lit conditions, so although I think they look great I've ruled those out. I've also pretty much ruled out the black (it doesn't quite sing to me).

Thus, I'm down to either the silver romans or silver sticks (pics below). I would think the silver sticks (given it's lumed) might be more readable at night, plus the sticks make it very clear exactly where the hour markers are. On the other hand, perhaps the cross-hatch pattern might make it a little harder to resolve the minute markers at certain angles, and maybe the hour/minute hands stand out better against a more uniform background.

Are both of these models good for legibility in real-world conditions, or does one have a clear edge? Are they both substantially more legible than the champange dials? Thanks.

The most legible is the simple silver dial with stick figures, which also gives you lume. Avoid the dark faces and Roman numerals. I spent some time trying different faces, the silver won by quite a margin.
The lume actually works too.

Of those two the sticks hands down. The mosaic dial is beautiful and far more interesting than the silver.

For me, it's the black dial with stick. One reason why I choose this version over the more fancier dials.

If legibility is you main concern, it's hard to argue this

Silver romans for me, think the clear dial is an easier background.

I think the silver romans is the nicer looking dial. And that's what I would go for, legibility be damned.

Is a plain black dial with sticks available on YG 40DD? Thought it was only black diagonal with sticks?

Plain black with baguette diamonds?

It is diagonal but looks plain in many lights.

Black with stick, I've found is the easiest to read. Chocolate and blue dials are easy to read as well.

It's the new laser-etched motif dial. However, the pattern only shows up under suitable lighting condition. ( and not in this case ).

I have gone off black dialled watches really, but I have to admit, that black dial with sticks is pretty convincing for legibility.
