Advice needed - scratched bezel

A bit of a newbie question, so I thought I would seek advice from the seasoned professionals....
I have grazed the bezel on my 16528 Daytona.

Before I rush off to Rolex, I thought I would seek opinion on how you guys would tackle repairing it....

Leave it until the next service or if it bugs you send it in for repair

Leave it, the pain lasts 48hours and does get better.
My 116520 has its share of scars as well, good knowing once RSC when due, all will be new again.

if thats a 18k yg bezel --- leave it... don't even polish it if its deep.

or change it if its pocket change. it'll be about $1200 i believe.

ps: got pix?

One thing for sure is watches will scratch.

Plus, scratches add character and it tells you are using and enjoying your watch.

Watches are tools, could you imagine a 1960s diver servicing and polishing his/her submariner for a scratch?

1200 is cheaper than I thought.
If you mean pics of the graze, HERE: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ccb52lryw...ratch.jpg?dl=0

If you mean pics of the entire watch, I am about to do a photoshoot on it.
(something I said I would do before the inevitable bumps and scratches occurred )

A scratched bezel would drive me crazy. I like my bezels to look clean and unscratched - hate the scruffy look. I would replace it.

True, true.
I used my Ferrari as a daily driver, because I actually wanted to enjoy it, but I did attend to every little blemish.
...so I take your point.
This is more "dinner" than "diving" for me ....if that makes sense ;)

Yes, true.
And yes, I need to man up, and let go.

Thanks for the points of view guys, I appreciate it.

Use a Dremel tool with a small polishing buffer. A small dab of Simichrome metal polish should get it depending on how bad it is. You may try just the Simichrome on a soft cloth first. Tape up any brushed parts you don't want to polish.

Oh, that's not bad at all. With the metal bezel Daytona's, that's a pretty common mark. It happens, unfortunately...and if you fix that one, another will take its place.

It's one of the reasons I think the ceramic versions are so popular.

But, I would listen to the advice above to just live with it until service time.

Thats not nearly bad enough on that bezel to really warrant any kind of work on it IMHO. Wait till you really get a zinger or long drag for that.

Hmmmm. Now that I look at it with a loop, it is actually light enough to consider the soft cloth approach

very true, the bezels on them are prone to be hit.

That's the problem with pm daytona. Bezel scratch so easily. It is soft as butter. It bothers me a while and the cure for it is to get a new watch. Then you'll forget about that ding/scratch you put on your daytona.
