Does registered mail go by horseback?
Dropped my Explorer II at the post office this past Monday morning. Tracking info said it would be delivered at the Dallas RSC yesterday, but it sat in a Jersey sorting facility until yesterday, then was updated overnight last night at a postal sorting facility in Philly. So in 5 days it's traveled about 30 miles, has about 1,500 miles to go and is already a day past their estimated delivery date. I guess I should forget about checking on tracking info!

I'm surprised you sent it by Mail service. Not being American, maybe I don't understand, but I would never trust shipping to Canada post.

I called the RSC before sending it and they emailed shipping instructions. I followed them to the letter and they said to send registered mail and declare the value. So it's first class registered mail. would have gladly paid for overnight if it were an option but apparently that's the only method they accept. Honestly next time I will just arrange a business trip so I can stop at DFW and I'll drop it off myself.

Yeah, RSC only wants to accept watches sent via registered mail. Although they will sometimes return them via FedEx or UPS so go figure. Even though the clerk at the PO might tell you it's "priority mail" service, the registered part trumps the priority part so it winds up taking a week or two. Many postal employees don't really understand what they're selling so they just quote the priority transit times which go out the window when you select registered.

Send it by FedEx or DHL and they simply won't accept delivery. You also have to address it to RSC and Not Rolex Service Center or the same apply. |

Registered US Mail is hand processed each step of the way with each step being hand notated. This is why it is so slow, but it's also why it is the most secure method to send anything in the USA.

If you hadn't have checked it, it would have gone quicker.
Luck of the draw.....it's safe though, so don't worry. |

Registered shipping is the safest mail service in the usa imo. It is I believe one of if not the only way to send classified documents by protocol, but maybe some people ignore classified document protocol.
