BLNR VS 2006 Daytona

Hi Guys,

Hoping for a little guidance
BLNR vs Daytona?

Which would you rather have long term
I love both-
Which would be a better investment long term
What would you think the Daytona would be worth if I traded?

Really appreciate any all feedback

I've owned a white face SS Daytona and it just wasn't for me. However I now have BLNR and it's in my opinion the nicest Rolex on the market.

I'd vote BLNR

Both great watches. Neither are an investment.

My personal opinions: SS Daytona (particularly in white) is difficult to read. GMT is the most useful complication out there.

Blnr or save for a newer daytona. I think 2006 has old style clasp and may need service. I may also have been polished several times.

Both should hold value well so just go for which is best on your wrist.

Everyone is going Daytona crazy at the moment yet before the Ceramic came out demand in them had significantly dipped, I still like them and would like to get my hands in the new ceramic version just to try it but IMHO the BLNR is the best looking sports Rolex in the current range.

This sums it up quite nicely. If it's the only watch, the GMT is far more useful IMO and more versatile. Good luck.

My personal opinion - I've yet to own a Daytona of any kind but knowing me, I'll probably buy one before I finish typing this post. Anyway, I've owned the BLNR not once, but twice, and in my opinion it is far inferior to the Daytona.

As far as getting one from 2006? That's tough... I'd look for something newer but I would certainly choose a Daytona over a BLNR.

BLNR is proving not a bad investment for me so far....
Bought just under 2 years ago for a bit under the £5950 UK list....currently going on eBay for way over £1,000 more than I paid.

Ok I wouldn't retire on such an increase but it's appreciating far more than the money in the bank.

I prefer the BLNR.

Go with what you like. Both are not investments.

Good luck.

Daytona is fantastic; but a completely different watch from the BLNR. As ALL of these threads tend to go, YOU are the only person who knows what you prefer. Try em on and see if you want the date and a 24hr hand on your wrist, or racing history and a chrono.

A good piece of advice though, don't look into buying a watch as 'an investment'. If you want an investment: invest in the market, invest in real estate, invest in business.

Happy Hunting!!!

I use my chrono all the time; I've never had a use for a GMT hand, even when I'm traveling. Which complication would you use more?

BLNR. I own both (close year on Daytona) and while both are great the blnr is indestructible. Best modern Rolex imho.

The all-rounder BLNR is a better choice. If you like a chrono watch, you can wait for Daytona C 500 in a little more patience.

The BLNR would be my choice. In fact if I only could own one Rolex this would likely be the one.

If I was to go with a GMT it would be in black and not the BLNR. I would not pay the extra. The Daytona is a nice watch but at 10 years old it could be due for a service so it should be figured into the cost. Neither are an investment but if bought right you should not lose too much when you flip.
