Vintage GMT on the bay

This vintage GMT 16750 is listed on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ROLEX-GM...d=p3286.c0.m14

A few of you know that GMT's are my Rolex of choice, especially vintage pieces. I saw this one on ebay, and while the watch is probably genuine (can't be 100% sure just by the photos) I saw some things that I didn't like about the auction that were "red flags" to me.

The watch was originally sold in Singapore probably around 1987. It is in a box that was out of production for over 10 years and I believe the box is specific to the USA market (Orchi might know for sure). It is being sold with a Submariner booklet and the original warranty paper. There are no photos indicating it has the original green or red hang tags, a GMT booklet or Your Rolex Oyster booklet.

The auction states:

This watch is 100% original Rolex including strap,it is a 1985 never been messed about with,it comes with original box, paperwork and Rolex warrenty. It has not been polished there is no damage and works perfectly. serial number 865**** model 1675. NOTE WE DO NOT TAKE PAYPAL OVER $500.

Based on the description noted above by the seller and how the watch/accessories are depicted in the photos would make me place this on a watchout list. This auction could lead to a few surprises for the winner later, especially when he finds out that some of the accessories are not original to the watch or are missing.

Err buddy Springer...good catch!

Orchi tried to take a closer look at the Dial of the 16750 watch...n that
Dial looks likely to be a Service Replacement Dial...having "SWISS" plot...
instead of "Swiss - T<25"...!

Orchi would bet that the Dial is still luminous in the dark...

Also the Case n bracelet looks to have been RE-polished...!

Sounds correct Orchi, I didn't notice that on the dial - the "Swiss" marking.
