Does anybody know Maurizio Pia from Bulgaria

Dear All,

I am close to concluding a transaction with the above named advertiser on Chrono24. I have done extensive DD and have spoken with the two UK-based references he provided, who are both "in the trade" with bricks and mortar operations and appear legit. Maurizio's company is called RS Gold Ltd.

Searching the forum I see that there have been problems in the past with a seller / poster named Maurizio Rovani from Italy. "My" Maurizio lives in Bulgaria but clearly speaks Italian as that is where he is sourcing his watches. An unfortunate coincidence of names ?

Interested in any feedback forum members may have.

My first and strong perception here, stay away from any 3rd world country like Bulgaria REGARDLESS of the references you get.
The name is way too much of a coincidence too, probably the same guy, I would stay away, buy from a trusted seller here

You should not bash Bulgaria as a third world country that's for sure.
Plenty of things wrong in my country but as EU member it follows some rules. And plenty of nice, honest and hardworking people around here.
Long discussion, but don't draw general conclusions.

Anyway - I had traded with someone named Maurizio Pia on chrono24, it was a guy from a company named GMT SAS , Cedex France

If that is the same one, not quite positive experience , if needed I will share more.
Ask your guy where exactly in Bulgaria he lives, maybe I can check more on him.

P.s. For 7-8 years buying on Ebay, I had acutally had my worst trading experience with 4-5 German sellers, fake descriptions, lies in communication, mislesding information and misrepresented items. Sending wrong sizes, broken watches etc...Does this mean the country sucks?

Greetings.... from Bulgaria. Here be dragons and stuff.

Over the last 7 years, after dealing with many sellers in europe, by far the ones from countries that are lets say poorer and have a much lower living standard, they are always the ones that are shady.
This includes some other countries that are even part of the G20 but not nearly as much.
There are hard working people in all countries everywhere, its just unfortunate that the scumbags that lurk around in them, some more than others, give the entire country a bad name

This must be one heck of a deal for you to be even considering this seller at this stage.

Well, this just goes to show where a little (actually, a lot) of due-diligence and a lack of prejudice can get you. After quizzing Mr. Pia and his referees relentlessly for two days I went ahead with the trade and here is my BNIB 116600 received on time, in perfect condition and for a fantastic price. Well done Mr. Pia

Congratulations and well timed!

Just to make things clear, the issues I had with Maurizio concerned used watch that was misrepresented (scratches, not serviced as claimed, chip on glass, etc).
Obviously on the new wathes , things look fine.

Again to the OP - well done, great watch!

Thanks Cenzor - and you PM's were very useful (and not only for the vacation suggestions !).

Sadly haven't got my screwdriver in the office to size the bracelet, but luckily I did have a toothpick and a NATO lying around...

Maurizio Pia

Does anybody know how to contact Maurizio Pia. I made a deal with him with a Rolex Daytona watch and wired 11,000 Euro. He doesn't answer any calls or e-mails. If there is any information that would help me, I would really appreciate.

Totally agree with you on German part! Majority of my bad experiences relate to Germany. Ralf #Meertz cost me £800 by lying to me about condition of a PP 5110P. The idiots at #Chrono24 are no help whatsoever! Another German seller Piyar Duganay pretended to be a private seller after concluding transaction as he missold me a breitling navi! Thinking about it all makes me fume!!!!

**UPDATE**

I sent Maurizio Pia €45,900 on 14 July to send 7 watches. He now claims his supplier has not sent him the watches and has stopped communicating with him. I requested to see bank statements showing that he received payment and from same account he sent his supplier €300,000 as he claims and that there is no money in his account to refund my money. After waiting several weeks for this information he then says that his business account got closed down. So I requested that he show me official letter from bank informing him that they will close it down. Yet again he failed to provide this after initially saying he would. I am now in the process of contacting Interpol.

This guy has either just turned rogue or he has done this in the past with others playing the long game. As I stated earlier I had previously done small bits of business with him so I am suprised at what has happened.

If anyone knows of his whereabouts please let me know so that I can provide information to the police.
