You have to remember, that back in the day, this watch was his "daily beater" !!!

PS: The word "Cool" in the thread title was a reference to one of his best movies: "Cool Hand Luke"...
I thought for sure one of you guys would have spotted that !!

I thought about michaelodonnel023's point and I think it's valid. I can buy a quartz watch for $4, but I'm wearing a $4k thing that also tells time. I could buy a vintage Daytona for $100k, and for this one special piece, at $10M, it's only 100 times the price of a Daytona not that special, while my El Primero is 1000x the price of the quartz equivalent. So, relatively speaking, not that obscene. Hard to stomach the hard numbers, nonetheless.

Yes but it was a present from his wife and was engraved.
And to a boyfriend, not even a husband of his daughter.

I might be in the minority, but I'd rather have a 6263 (seriously). Then I'd buy a castle in Europe with all the money I'd save.

Cool Thread. A class act from great era. I would bet when it was given as a gift it was like any other good watch at the time. What year was it gifted?
