How often do you service your Rolex?

If you bought it new, then if it's not broken don't fix it. If you bought it used, it's better to have it serviced and start clean.

modern rolex will last decades without service. don't listen to the rolex recommended maintenance interval. It's just another way to extract more money from rich people. we're talking about a watch that had been made millions of time and have had years of development and updates. Modern material and fluid used in building these watches are far superior and will last longer. afterall, it's just a mechanic watch. it's not a complex machinery like a car engine that runs in high temperature and rigorous condition.

As with cars I like the idea of selling before it needs any work.

If I ever owned a watch long term I think I would have it checked for waterproofness once a year (due to my lifestyle) and ask my ADs opinion at that point as to whether he thinks I should service it..

It's a mass produced watch, not an aeroplane! Service it when it goes wrong...or you're throwing money away!

I never get a mechanical watch serviced unless there is something wrong with it. Not sure what the point is, especially with a brand like Rolex. I do get my divers pressure checked every year or so.

I'd get it serviced once a month, or at the very least 2 a year... You never know when you're going to really need it!.. Everyone is different though...
