When adjusting quickset, is there a way to know if it's AM or PM?

Silly question I suppose, but if I do not use my watch for a while and then set it, I always set the date one day behind, then turn the hour hand forward until it changes.

I then know it starts in the AM and I keep turning until it reaches the correct time (AM or PM).

If I just set the date, I am not sure if it's AM or PM, and the date may change at noon...

Setting a day in advance, then using the time part to adujust the date is the same for me. I also set the date in the morning, but I only had mine for about a week or two.

I usually wind the hands until they have just passed the 12 o'clock position. If the date changes I know it's am, if it doesn't, I know it's pm. I then set the time to am or pm depending on the results and then the date.

Welcome, Greg. The best thing to do is to run the minute hand around the dial until the date changes. You then have determined that it is midnight. Continue to move the minute hand forward until you have the correct time for either morning or night. Next, if the date is NOT the correct date, push the crown in to the "quick-set" location and set the date correctly. From this point on (unless the watch stops), all you will have to do is move the date forward at the end of short months.
