If you want a 5711 then forget it. You won’t be getting one at retail let alone three at a discount.

usually i get 10% on all pateks (in rare cases 15) but never 20%. but then i get VAT back since i have no residency in the EU. that is typically around 16-18%, calculated from the discounted price. however, i did not get to buy a 5711A yet.

i don't. But then again i buy in London and only own a ss 5164 and a 5712. It kind of sucks as my AD knows I will pay full retail now, so its going to make a discount harder on ones where a discount is possible in the future i suspect.

I got a few hundreds of and an extra leather strap which was ok. It was not a SS Sports model. Oh, and made an offer on a new Aquanaut at -10% and it was rejected so at least in my case it was not successful lol. |

Seriously if you’re buying a $20k+ luxury item that nobody needs do you really need a 3% discount for not using a credit card? Not sure I really get it.

with those sums there will be paperwork required. Both at the AD and probably from the bank when withdrawing. Id rather the bank knows what im buying vs the IRS knowing im using large sums of cash. An audit would be a hassle.

My AD wont take cash over GbP13000. Casinos, jewellers and pawnvrokets are high risk from a money laundering perspective

Well, decades ago i used the phone and yearly visits to form a relationship with dealers. Now with the Internet it is far easier to get products from around the world. i remember getting 14% discounts between USD and Germany DM before VAT (when VAT was around 12% i think). Anywho, be smart and you'll figure it out.

My AD doesn't do cash discounts - they would much rather you pay by credit card, as cash requires them to do all kinds of paperwork, take it over to the bank, etc. |

Yes it does. Of course it always helps to be amongst the first to receive the currency before it 'trickles down'.

When some people save a long time for a luxury watch, a few thousand is a big deal. Not everyone is liquid. There's people on here who save years for some watches
