Wow, Stephen. Surprised, but looks like the right choice for you. They’re both such great watches, maybe you’ll end up with both some day when the 5170P love is gone.

That’s my favorite DD40 dial. Wear it in good health!

Stunning watch. How are you finding the weight? Is it too much at the end of a full day? Daily wear or no?

Thanks! The weight is fantastic. It’s heaviest when you put it on in the morning. That’s when you’re reminded about the impressiveness and weight of the watch. Throughout the day, it becomes part of your wrist, and you quickly get used to the weight. You will remember it’s there, though, because you’ll want to keep glancing at its beautiful dial.

Welcome to the club, it just feels unreal. Of course you have had platona for a long time, but president bracelet really makes wearing all-platinum watch a perfect experience.

That is exactly how I describe the Daytona. When I pick it up to put it on first thing in the morning, I am struck by its weight. But after a few seconds, it melts away. Unless I think about it. And then it is noticeable.

I have never once taken it off mid day or at the end of the day because the weight has gotten to be too much. It truly disappears.

Congrats again on your Patek Pickup and your Daytona/Day-Date Decision.

Stunning watch!!

Must have been a tough choice - you do not hear of many people flipping a Platona.

Massive Congrats.

It's an often asked question, regarding the weight. I had the same experience with the Platona, like you. Both are incredible watches, and the weight is intoxicating!

Thank you! I've heard a few who have flipped the Platona for various reasons. It certainly wasn't an easy decision because it is a special watch, but I feel my new 5170P (platinum Patek chrono) coupled with the Plat DD40 is a better pairing, at least for me.

What the Hell, man??? Can't believe you got rid of the Platona. Seriously, congrats!! The DD is an awesome watch. I would love to see how it looks on a leather strap.
