I saw that on the news last night. I’m shocked the people actually got the dog back. In another airline dog situation the flight attendant forced the passenger to put her carry on dog in the overhead bin. When they landed the dog was dead.

A “dog” was supposed to fly to Kansas, and a “dog” arrived there. How were UAL employees supposed to know there are not only different breeds of dog, but also more than one?

Nothing wrong with UAL, AA or DL that could not be fixed by giving IQ tests to the traveling public before letting them purcahse a ticket. Please tell me your airline of choice up there in Iceland. Certainly not Icelandic i hope.

Ailrines are the whipping boy for the traveling publics stupidity. Most passengers expect a Rolex experience for Casio prices. It ain't going to happen. This idog is dead because the passenger expected UAL to extend exceptional care to her pet and that is not part of the travel agreement she paid for.

Get over yourself.

I hate flying. Absolutely hate it. Used to be an adventure where everyone wore their Sunday best and the seats were nice and comfy. The cabin attendants were polite. Then they lost their pensions, everybody wants to pay the absolute cheapest fare possible and it just became trashy and stressful. American carriers are the worst.

And if you mistreat or kill my dog there will be fury.

Where did this all go wrong!?

I have flown on a lot of carriers. US airlines are by far the worst outside of the third world. Some suck less than others, but none are great.

UAL's own policy says that pets must be stored under the seat so no, the passenger wasn't expecting exceptional care.

https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con.../in_cabin.aspx

Quote:
In-cabin pet kennels
A pet traveling in cabin must be carried in an approved hard-sided or soft-sided kennel. The kennel must fit completely under the seat in front of the customer and remain there at all times. The maximum dimensions for hard-sided kennels are 17.5 inches long x 12 inches wide x 7.5 inches high (44 cm x 30 cm x 19 cm). The recommended maximum dimensions for soft-sided kennels are 18 inches long x 11 inches wide x 11 inches high (46 cm x 28 cm x 28 cm). Soft-sided pet carriers may exceed these dimensions slightly, as they are collapsible and able to conform to under-seat space without blocking the aisle. With the exception of birds, there may only be one pet per kennel, and the animal must be able to stand up and turn around comfortably. Two birds may travel in the same kennel.
It would seem that the only people who need to take an IQ test is the stewardess and you.

Thanks for the personal insult. You are hereby off my Christmas list. BTW, unless you have lived in a cave for the last 30 years (??), the term stewardess" went out with words like queer. You need to catch up.

It seems to be a biased view, protecting the reputation of UAL at the expense of the victim though. Are you on their PR team?

The fact is the dog that was placed in an overhead bin was against UAL own policies. The flight attendant, hence, the airline was completely in the wrong. Just a horrible thing to happen to that poor dog and family.
