I use John Lewis home insurance. No issues with them, or try Hiscox.

Specified item on my Barclays home insurance, covers loss, theft, damage anywhere in the world to the specified value. Haven't had to use them fortunately, but the cover seems good.

I use Hiscox. It’s a good option if you have lots of watches and/or jewellery. Benefits are:
- Watches don’t need to be itemised up to a value of £15000 - No need for valuation - No upper limit on total value of watches insured - You’re covered worldwide - No ridiculous clauses like the watch needs to be in the same room as you to be insured and it doesn’t have to be kept in the safe. - The contents insurance that comes with the cover is unlimited £600 for unlimited contents and several watches plus the wife’s jewellery seems pretty good to me. |

My understanding is that if you have some sort of proof you owned the watch (receipt, warranty card, photos of the watch/serial numbers) and a crime number, then any reputable insurer will cough up. Having said that I got burgled when I was a student living in a “characterful” area of East London. The insurance company sent an assessor round and my impression of the whole thing was that he was basically sizing me and my housemates up for whether we were chancers or not. It was obvious that he was quickly reassured that we weren’t scumbags and he actually allowed me to claim (legitimately, I might add) for stuff that I had absolutely zero proof I had ever owned, including a laptop worth a couple of K. |

If you lose it, you are signing an Affidavit to that Your car is insured... nothing is stopping you from telling your insurance company someone stole it. I dont see the difference because its a watch. Im sure people do it and im sure they go to jail. |

Depends on your collection M&S/JL are good if your watches are sub 15k each (might need to be checked as it’s been a while since I checked) and total collection is Sub 50k (as previous comment)
After this you’ll need to look at the likes of Hiscox etc, I personally prefer Lark insurance as found them able to tailor the cover moreso then Hiscox, plus Hiscox got funny with me over a disagreement on a blocked waste pipe being listed as a riverflood by M&S and they pretty much accused me of giving false details. |

I use Marks and Spencer’s insurance. Originally, they were itemised, but now the policy has an unlimited item value and unlimited collection value.

I’ve been with them for a few years now and the last couple have been like this, so I’ve not needed to look elsewhere. Only costs approx. £44 per month for my 4 bed semi, for buildings and unlimited contents. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

That’s really interesting as never heard of that and know of a few watch owners having to cancel M&S insurance and go elsewhere once they had exceed the limits I posted!
Sure a member on here or TZUK had his insurance with M&S cancelled when he called to add a watch over 15k to his policy. |

I’d never heard of it either and weirdly, I didn’t ask for it. Originally, I was quoted through confused.com , but itemised each watch, ring, etc. Then, when M&S were the cheapest, I called to confirm all the items were covered, before setting up the direct debit. All was good and then, after a couple of years, I noticed the unlimited cover. So, since then, I’ve not changed insurance nor called them to add the new purchases. I just presumed that that was their standard cover, but now you’re telling me different. I wonder why they changed mine, but doesn’t do the same all round?? I’d understand if I was being robbed on the premium, but I find their renewal price quite cheap, especially for the cover that I’m getting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

LLoyds
Well - i have gone with Lloyds... you could specify items ... and the costs was not prohibitive - especially compared to watch only insurance (Assetsure) ... perhaps not as good? But I could specificy items (outside house too).

M&S is quite reliable, also Royal & Sun Alliance is a good one. I checked info about them at largest database datapo where specialists daily collect the updated info about companies from all countries. The easiest way to check any company and reduce the risks of cooperation.
