Was the Submariner case changed for 2018 or not?

I thought I read something about slimmer lugs and a redesigned case profile, but can’t find it.

I’m assuming there has been no change or it would’ve had a lot of attention. Is this correct?

You may have read on a Journal/Watch site prediction page. No changes. Looks great as is and I'm sure I'll like it next update. The Subs and Daytonas are never the test mules so to speak, so we'll their changes last and longer between

I did not, but I wish it did since that would make the one I have now worth even more. Maybe next year.

I think the GMTc case was barely changed too, just redesigned, with bloggers saying it looked a bit shinier.

Nope and until they get rid of those monstrous square columns, I can't stand them!

Only update was in the dial. The latest shipment of Subs have a tall 'f' in "600 ft". You can spot the latest dials this way. Even the Rolex website still shows the old dials.

I've yet to see anyone mention it online yet. Dial aficionados will want the new revisions with tall Fs.

The Sub will get the new GMT case, so basically it won’t change at all.

Rolex claims they have, but no one seems to know just in what way. Suffice it to say, the changes are subtle, whatever they are.

My mistake. Meant to say 1000 ft. Late night typo. Had meters first dials on the brain.

Either way, the 'f' is taller on the new dials.

Not true. The big foot and little foot dials have both been used and coexisted for a long time on the 6 digit Subs. In the past the big foot was more often seen on Hulks, but even that was no hard and fast rule.

I'll keep holding out hope they go to 41mm with a 49-50mm lug-to-lug, until then I will stick with my Black Bay. Or I can go on a crash diet and get my wrist down to 6"

41mm, 22mm BB may very well be a market test for appetite for next Sub cases. Consider Tudor, and the Rest of Rolex’s Diver line, it would be strange for the Sub to sit lonely at 40/20

Interesting. I haven't seen a tall F on the 114060 or 116610lv until late last year. All dials that I've run across up until then have had short Fs. Images on rolex.com all show short Fs as of this post. Maybe it's just the LN that has had tall Fs?
