Since Bond usually favors diving watches, I would agree that he would probably wear something along the lines of the Sub or SeaDweller.

Omega has a special place in my heart, but I would love to see Bond go back to wearing a Rolex.

Taking product placement out of the equation (sorry, Omega, that’s the only way Bond would wear one of your watches) Bond would wear one of these.

Rugged, current and most fitting of a Commander in the Royal Navy.

That's certainly the only way he would have worn an entry-level Omega diver when trying to look the part at a poker game with a $10 million buy-in. As Miami Vice proved over two decades earlier, agents trying to pass as real ballers wear Versace with a DD, drive Ferraris, and live on sailboats.

To be fair, Omega have a history with supplying Seamasters to the Royal Navy. Omega has a richer military history than Rolex does in my opinion.

Can't say I disagree with you about how great the watch is.

The original book Bond did wear an Explorer just like the writer who liked to put his own personal tastes into the Bond character.

Probably wouldn't be a Deep Sea as it is over-spec'd.

Probably wouldn't be the 43mm either as it is oversized to meet a market demand for bigger watches rather than because it needs to be.

Probably would be the 116600 or the 16600 as they are more true to being tool watches; hence why they are unpopular with the masses.

Maybe the watch doesn't need to be quite 43mm but 15mm thickness on a 40mm watch seems unbalanced to me. The proportions on this thing are spot on.

Also, Bond has historically worn big watches for the time.

Explorer I- 36mm (big watch for the 50s)

Submariner- 38-40mm again big for the 60s and onwards

Seamaster 300- 41mm, again big for the 90s compared to the Sub which was king at the time and still is

PO-45.5mm and 42mm, again big watches

Since Bond is a fictional character I'm sure that it will be whatever floats the current scriptwriter's boat at the time of writing - ongoing legalities of product / brand placement contracts permitting :)

I would say given his background with the royal SAS, He might be inclined to pick up the SD Seaclops.

Borrowed pic.

But if I were choosing for him I would probably pick the black GMT ''Ninja.''

Guaranteed if Bond was a real character, he'd be even more gritty than Daniel Craig's version. Bond seems more like a believable character now than the old versions. A real Bond, if there were such a person would wear something more expensive than an Omega.

114060 is the right answer, but it has already been decided what he's wearing. It's an Omega.

Daniel Craig isn’t a huge guy so I don’t see him sporting anything as massive as the DSSD. even the PO 45.5mm doesn’t wear as big as the DSSD.

The Bond films DC has made do not revolve around the ocean like Dr. No or Thunderball did. I could see Bond sporting an Omega Speedmaster at some point, even with his SBS/SAS background.

DC won me over from the opening foot chase in Casino Royale. And I love how they got away from all the gadgets to focus on Bond’s grit and single-minded determination. Part suave agent, part Punisher.

Ever since the train ride into Montenegro I’ve pronounced “Omega” with DC’s Cockney accent. It’s Oh-MEE-ga. :)

It's not a Cockney accent, unless you are Dick Van Dyke.

Maybe a customized watch. Sterile, something without all the trademarks/advertisement on the dial, crystal, crown, case-back, or bracelet/band.

Planet Ocean GMT.

Ticks every box for a world traveling man of adventure.

There really is no comparator with diving bezel and 24 hour hand.

Well said my friend! Class and finesse never go out of style. The SD4000 would be a great choice for those secret diving missions. Cheers!

No. The AT didn't appear in a Bond film until Skyfall, which was the 38.5 mm blue-dial version with the date-window surround (non-Master movement). In the opening scenes, he wore a 42mm PO. It's been rumored that the actual PO he wore for the film was a bespoke titanium model, because Craig felt the stainless version was too heavy for his action scenes. Omega wanted to market the standard black dial/bezel SS watch as the Bond model, rather than the more expensive blue dial/bezel Ti watch, so they quietly produced a Ti black version for Craig to wear for the shoot. Or so says certain spaces on the Interwebs.

In Spectre, the 41.5mm blue-dial AT without date surround (Master movement) bookended the film, with the special edition Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial being the watch in the central part of the movie.

This is pretty insane conversation, imho. Really seriously discussing what a fictional character introduced in the early '50s would wear today. Aside from the franchise's need to make as much money as possible there really is no reason to choose any traditional watch. Omega has bought the rights for product placement. Truthfully with all the technology available today, the sky is the limit as to what his watches could do. Restricting them to tradition is absurd. "Mr. Bond here is your watch for your mission." "Very nice, what does it do?" "Tells time." Double eye roll.

Fleming's Bond was most like DC and Timothy Dalton but much harsher, and in today's world he would be in PC jail and buried.

I think this most likely of Rolex.

Altho to go with his other high tastes he'd wear a Nautilus now.
