Panerai Luminor Bezel Ding..any solutions?
I own a pam005 that I've been using as a tool watch for around 4years now.
I did the most stupid thing today and accidentally cracked my wrist on a metal door frame. Now I have this massive ding on the bezel at 6 o'clock. I did not baby my panerai by any means, so it already had numerous small scratches and scuffs, but nothing this large. So the question is, is the pam005 constructed so that the bezel is able to be separated from the main case, or is it integrated as part of the case?? If I dropped it off at the NYC boutique for service, would they be able to replace the bezel? And how much would this cost me? I plan on wearing it a little more until I am ready to send it away for a comprehensive check-up/service. |

The bezel can be replaced. Couple hundred, tops.

It’s replaceable, separate from the case. If it were me, I’d try polish to blend in the ding scratches until you send it in for service....at which time you can have it replaced along with the service they’ll perform on your movement.
Obviously it’s not going to “buff out”, but it’ll look much less noticeable.

Aaaah, the joy of not having an integrated bezel....an easy and cheap fix at service time. ;-)
If you can't wait until then, maybe try a really light Cape Cod rub to smooth out the rough edges? |
