I got a 1680 in January, and it's just about ruined me for anything else.

I did. Everyday for the past 23 years. I wore my 1978 Sea Dweller doing everything. Dirt biking, skiing, golfing, running, paddle, swimming, surfing and even trying to put a bent hdmi cable into a wall mounted tv. I also didn't realize its value until about 7 years ago, but only recently limited my wear. In the past 5 years, after having it completely reconditioned, I have had to get it repaired twice and I had it serviced twice as well. It really just can't the beating of running and exercise more than anything. I also lost the original bezel 2 years ago while playing golf. That sucked. Up until a couple years ago, I never gave it much thought. I also knew that if I kept taking it off for various activities I would eventually lose it. Much like I have done temporarily over the last couple years.

So my answer is...maybe. If you are a middle aged adult and the biggest hazard is spilling a glass of chardonnay on it, then yes...wear it every single day. If you are 29 years old and still reliving your youth playing on your local bar's softball team, maybe cut it back to occasions that deem fit. My watch has seen a lot of real life experiences. If that watch could talk....

If you had an 1803 pressure tested and it had been to an RSC in the past 3 years would you swim in a pool with it on?

That is a great looking Sea-Dweller that has had a life worth talking about.

Pretty much vintage everyday for me. I will say, however, that when it comes to traveling I reach for a sapphire crystal (circa 1981 matte dial Ref. 16800) or I go with a more contemporary timepiece, SD Ref. 16600 or first gen. Explorer 214270.

I'll go against the grain... not a chance that any of my vintage collection could be daily wearers. Condition is king for these pieces. I'm careful with my watches but nicks and scratches and things happen, not worth it for me with my vintages so I wear them on certain occasions only to minimize the chances of damage. I certainly enjoy my pieces on my wrist but not every day.

Pretty much every day—the most “modern” piece I have is a transitional 5-digit GMT. Today it’s the chrono.

Well, after posing this question and the rousing response with everyone wearing their vintage everyday. I guess I'll do the same.
My now daily wear, with a mix in occasionally with my Speedmaster.

I have been wearing my 6240 fairly regularly in my rotation along with my more modern pieces. It keeps perfect time....better than my 5712. Go figure.

Been wearing this every day for the past 2 and a half weeks after a fresh service at LAWW!!! Don't think I've worn anything newer than a triple 6 since the beginning of year.
