That's crazy!!! There seems to be a market out there for these - I've seen DavidSW post two on his site in the last 6 weeks or so for $68,575, and they were gone within a few days.
I still feel incredibly lucky I got mine at the UK VAT free price! |

I also see that Chronext don't offer a 5990 source so that might make buyers rush to buy when they see one.

![]() Unless it was related to all "expensive watches" to clean up the balance sheet prior to the Reichmont acquisition. As that was announced a short time later and now they are buying again... and selling them quite easily it seems

The other 5990 that Watchfinder had at £52,500 has been sold. I noticed they have another 2018 in the "Presale" section, and it makes me wonder if it's the one talked about being available in the other thread!
![]() On a side note, they also have a 10-year old 5712/1A at £40,950, but apparently are only offering £28K or thereabouts for recent ones. And judging by the spread between the 2011 and 2018 5711/1A blue I am seeing, I wouldn't be surprised to see them ask £46,000 for a 2018 5712/1A. ![]() |

My impression is that the 5711 and 5712 have peaked as well, everyone who wanted one badly enough to pay the premium has gotten one - but the 5990s are having their day in the spotlight now given the low supply of them on the grey market in general. |

If they are offering £2k+ under retail on a new 5712 they will get zero sales IMO. I could sell mine with no sales history on TRF for more.

As a reference point, I also inquired with a few of the US greys about their buy prices for a 5990. Let's just say they were all below the US MSRP of $53,300. And these are the same people marking them up to 68K or more, or 15K over MSRP. Greys want the whole pie, ice cream and cherry on top to themselves. |

Pretty greedy imo, 50% margins or just less after margin VAT. |

I think £ 30 - 31K is a reasonable offer for the 5711. Few months ago I was in Blowers with a friend, Mark asked me when I got my 5711 blue and when I mentioned to him I got it in 2015 he told me it was 2 price increases ago and he was willing to offer me the current MSRP if I wanted to sell it.

I just saw WF have a blue 5980 for £62.5K and it's 2006. I'm sure I saw one for mid fifties a few weeks ago. Just insanier and insanier.

That’s still there, but the 5711 they had for £46k has gone. It’s crazy, but then again, looking at Dom’s incoming, it is a beautiful watch. WF will have the 5711 for over £50k within a year.

One of the dealers with one in stock was Chronext (unworn, immediate delivery), the second dealer I can’t remember off the top of my head. Hoping my AD comes through with a 5711 before any more price increases. Getting a bit boring waiting for it now, having been on the list for 2-3 years already. |
