WG vs YG sub?

Have been looking/lusting after a smurf for a while debating going new or used when I saw this on the rubber b website while looking a band for my SD43.

Never really considered YG, always thought a YG watch would be to flashy for me but this could work. Dress it down with the strap or go upscale with gold bracelet.

Might have to find one in person to try on

For me, it would have to be yellow gold. I don't get the appeal of white gold, never have.

Not a yellow gold fan. I tried a smurf on a couple of weeks ago and was absolutely smitten.

I own the smurf and as much as I love the dial I’m starting to think it might be time for a change.

I would always choose YG/RG over WG for any watch.

Curious to why it might be time for a change?

I like YG on the blue sunburst subc and WG on the Daytona OF. Putting a rubber strap on the YG Subc will really tone it down, similar then to my AP RG 44mm which is pretty discrete for a gold piece.

The Smurf is just so much more under the radar. Subtle and understated.

The YG is not any of those things.

Guess the yellow a bit ahead, but both would be very very welcome!

Personally, I love white gold, Rolex white gold especially, which has both a gray and a very subtle yellow cast to it. To most folks it looks just like steel, but the weight, warmth, and color make it so very special. And stealthy.

I tried on Smurf and was underwhelmed with dial color. Bought a YG Blue Sunburst and couldn't be happier.

They are both great, the YG on rubber looks amazing.

I am a happy owner of the WG Sub. The YG is equally beautiful imo. There is no wrong choice

I love the WG sub. It’s on the list of todo’s. Not too flashy - would get a lot of wear. Don’t think a lot of us can pull off the YG as a daily.

The YG looks great on the rubber. RG Yachtmaster is a good suggestion, you can save some coin and have the advantage of the OF. One of my favourite Rolex models.
