Using my wis sourced TRF micron meter I have determined your watch has indeed lost 0.000067mm of metal, in other words, a gnats ass in thickness.
I'll give you $5k, final offer.

All kidding aside. You're stressing because it came back and you lack faith that your baby wasn't violated. So as I can only assume that after going through every sub atomic particle of the watch and found nothing, you were left with just one possible issue....they over polished it!
Those wiley polished obsessed RSC watchmakers, they got you.

No, it is not overpolished at all.

Enjoy the watch and if you are worried about round edges just skip the polishing from now on. Scratches add some character.

OP, these images are crystal clear macro shots provided by this TRF member.

No offence but your images are just not anywhere as clear on here.

How anyone can provide an educated response based on your images I really don’t know.

Hmmm, not sure. At least this has helped me to decide that I will be instructing them not to polish when I send my watch in for a service.

I just got my first Rolex and I'm terrified of them messing up my watch when I take it to servicing (I refuse to take my car to a shop and would rather learn and do the work myself ) so I know for sure when it's time to service my watch, I'm gonna be exactly like the thread poster.

Yours is absolutely fine but I get what you mean, the edges get a slight bit softer, I've refinished quite a few of these.

When using the finishing brushing disk it will always soften up the sharp edges a bit, now this cannot be prevented in any way and is completely acceptable and hardly noticeable.

With the 5 digits one would use a sandpaper stick to brush the lugs, when skilfully done this will not soften up the edge, but this method is not convenient on the 6 digits due to the straight brushing.

Rolex watches are meant to be refinished during a service, don't worry about it.

I think the edges do look a little less sharp and rounded.

Can see some softness to the edges there, but not too big of a deal. I hate soft edges myself so prefer to trade in for a new model when the time comes for a service or polish, but most people don’t mind. And I also don’t mind if the cost to change is too high

I will try to post some better more close-up photos soon. Not very successful at taking close-up, clear resolution photos from my iPhone 7.

I had to sign in just t reply and I love the “just wear it and enjoy”, BUT

From the pics it looks like they had the apprentice scour your edges on the grinder while he was watching the sports channel on his phone!

They look like crap. I don’t ever recall a 6 digit model that had rounded edges even if I bought used from the TS

Which RSC was this? Do you have any before pics? This is a good lesson to have good quality before pics of the lugs and shoulders and bracelet and I would include them in the package

I mean this could happen anywhere anytime... I’m just sorry that it happen to you, now

$700 for service plus additional $100-something for a recommended new crystal. Apparently my crystal was scratched.

Now comparing the two photos one non polished. Your lugs are not close to the sharpness like the factory. Rolex Dallas did a poor job. All depends on how skilled the watchmaker is at the wheel. That's why I'll never take a chance when I send my rolex for it's first service. No polish for me.

I will quote a very good analogy from someone on these forums a while back.

Worrying about a little polishing on a watch is like worrying your room might get a bit smaller after a few coats of paint. Tickled the hell out of me

OMG, the people (some of them) on this forum and their attitudes toward polishing just cracks me up sometimes.

OP, the watch looks great, no worries. You want to worry about something, it would be that Audi that you're driving. LOL

That is not a poor job at all, that is completely normal.

Agreed, and to my amateur eye I can't tell a difference even with the new photos posted.

To really be able to evaluate, the OP needs to focus on the lugs and not the rehaut.

Gentlemen

The only two things that are "crap" or "poor" thus far are the OP's somewhat fuzzy pictures and your collective responses.

It is impossible to tell from the pictures posted by the OP. Only high res sharp images of the lugs will enable anything more than speculation as to how the refinished case compares to an original.

To the OP, your refinished case (for the last time "polished" in any language means "to make smooth and shiny") will have ever so slightly softer edges than factory fresh, for the reasons the qualified RSC watchmaker posting on this thread has given you. And, quite frankly, anything that reduces the severity of the over sized six digit Sub lugs can only be a good thing
