Which GMT to get......? Please help me pick~
Dear TRF,
I have the following watches in my collection right now: 1) Rolex Datejust 41 - champagne dial with diamond markers 2) Rolex Submariner 116610LV - aka. the hulk I am planning to purchase a new watch within a year, and eyeing a GMT. I have narrowed down to two choices: 1) Rolex GMT-Master II 116710BLNR - aka. the batman 2) Panerai Luminor Due PAM944 Which one would you pick? |

Rolex > Panerai in terms of quality, reliability, resale, etc.

Don’t buy a Panerai if you love your Rolex. The effect and risk will be that you will become hooked and eventually sell all watches (that carry no sentimental value) so that you can buy more Panerai.
IMHO, the Panerai is a no brainer here. It’s different, unique and stunning. Only disadvantage with this particular Panerai is that you can’t go diving with it. So what? Who is diving with a watch like this in the first place? That’s what you have you other watches for!! |

If you get the Batman, you can entertain yourself endlessly as I do by playing this, while starring at the watch.
https://youtu.be/EZ9ymE2Rcxo Can’t do the same with the Panerai. |

BLNR but if you insist on GMT Panerai, you can either go with classic 233 or high tech 438 or 441 (bracelet or strap?)

Did you try them both?
I'd lean towards the BLNR. it didn't do much for me on the wrist, although it's a gorgeous watch. I wouldn't decide before i try them both on.

Between those 2, the BLNR.
But if another Panerai, the 233. |

If you get a Panerai be prepared to want more! Everywhere I go I see a Rolex watch.
Panerai are unique and rare to see in the wild. If this was to be my first high end watch then I would go with the BLNR. What I find attractive about panerai is their military history. They are not for everyone. There are world wide paneristi who are extremely loyal and passionate about the brand. Check out the Paneristi forums. Good luck in your choice Best Tony |

Given the fact you have couple of nice Rolex pieces already, I’d give the Panerai a try. The design and wrist presence of Panerai so different, I think you’d enjoy the added diversity it would bring to your collection.

By my opinion, pass Panerai cos Rolex love is too much. Batman is too common now, you have hulk above Batman.
If I were you I would go Everose...just me. |
