Tried it on at PP Salon Geneva. I don't like salmon dial but still find this attractive.

Bump.
Any new pictures to add? Any with a “live” watch? I believe they started to hit ADs. Who’s in? Who’s out?

I don’t know why it’s called salmon, the dial almost never has a pink hue. Gold, copper, yellow, orange. Funnier still is you can stare at it in person and look at it through your camera and the colors won’t match. Besides the striking black numerals and hands, the dial ends up being one of the more fascinating parts of the watch. I wasn’t immediately convinced, but it’s a special watch. The dimensions are nearly perfect and it’s a very relaxed look that will fly under the radar with most attire.

Thanks, my friend! Appreciate your ear on this one! Drinks on me in Vegas. It has come in, but no incoming thread. Pulled a stealth incoming. Appreciate it. Thank you! Your pics are some of the best and truest representation of the beauty of the dial and of the watch on the wrist. And I appreciate your feedback on the watch. You were spot on. Thank you!

My comments are I think the five large dark Arabic numerals at the top throw the whole dial off balance. I would have preferred the chronograph hands to have had a different color from the time hands as it is typical on Patek Chronographs. I think white gold accents might have worked better than the flat dark hands and numerals and sticks to brighten the whole look up. I have not seen the watch but in the photos it look flat and dull to me. White gold hands and accents could have lightened up the whole look.

Thanks! Your 5370p is a beautiful watch, you did well there! I loved it when I tried it on, but it was a little too big for me. Quote:
I think the numerals on top add balance to the dial since there is a lot on the bottom of the dial. I had the G-019 and the R-001, and while both are nice, I felt they were a bit sparse on the top. The numerals addressed that. As for the color of the hands and hour makers, this is a watch that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Pictures look very different than the actual watch. Cheers.

Big congrats, Steve! Looks amazing! Did you sacrifice the 3940p for this?

Yes, the 5370p was a little too thick for me to wear regularly to the office (which is the intention of this watch purchase). It also felt longer lug-to-lug, although I do not have the exact dimensions of those measurements and it may very well be the same. Interestingly, I thought those dimensions were on the Patek website, although I do not see them anymore. The 5370p lugs are gorgeous, and I love how the strap is attached, not to mention the dial and numerals. Again, you have a beauty.

I did flip the 3940p, and it's one of the more painful flips of all time (for me). However, I absolutely love the 5270p, and so far, I have no regrets.

I confess I have difficulty taking my eyes off this pic. The natural lights from the sun has a glorious effect on the salmon color. The whole dial just seems to spring into life! I absolutely love this!
Thanks for posting, and please post more, so that folks like me who can't afford this magnificent 5270p can see more of it. |

Some amazing images.
Great color combos and design. Especially a fan of the dark markers and hands against the dial.
