Best weekend watch

Looking to add a weekend/vacation watch to the collection. Would buy a sub c in an instant if it had the 5th generation lugs and if I could find one :).

Any suggestions for alternatives?

The Tudor Black Bay 58 is probably the closest thing to a current production of a 5 digit sub. 39mm case with slimmer lug proportions and aluminum bezel.

The 58 hasn’t left my wrist much since I got it. Tudor really did a great job with it.

I think all the watches stated are awesome, I personally would go for with the Sub C or the BB 58. I think having a no date makes the perfect weekend/vacation piece.

Lots of great options within Rolex. If you don’t care for the super case designs there are still some great 6 digit references that share the slimmer profile of the 5 digit references.

A weekend and vacation watch for me are different watches. I tend to travel a bit, sometimes third world. So, for vacation, I tend to have something a bit more stealth. An ExII would fit that role, IMO. but, if Rolex isn't a requirement, I would consider an Oris Diver 65. I'm lusting for one at the moment.

Love my EXII for weekend wear, very versatile - can do absolutely anything.

I don't consider any watch a weekend or weekday watch. What is the difference? What is the weekday watch in this case?

While I don't have a designated weekend watch, I get it. Someone may find a watch too flashy for an office setting, or too sporty for formal attire. Maybe they prefer a watch with a date on weekdays, and no date on weekends. Depends on the person.

Daytona. With the pcl it can be a bit dressy but also sporty with the chrono. Also since the chrono is not very legible and has no date it works well in a weekend situation. However the case can really be made for any Rolex as they are really all sport watches.

I find Tudors to be perfect vacation watches. More stealthy and attract less attention than Rolexes. For.the price they may be the best watches on the market.

Blancpain fifty fathoms is like a better version of the subc with more elegant lugs. Quite large though...

SubC is pretty tough to beat IMHO, can be worn with jeans, shorts or a suit.

I agree, subC no date looks awesome. I am hoping that would be my next watch too.

I had to think about this one and ultimately the weekend watch is what the rotation is at that time. Of course my SubC-LN hasn't been off my wrist in months and the others are being a bit neglected. A testament to its perfection.

I suggest if a five digit sub is what you want, buy one. Not difficult to locate a good example.

I have a Tudor 5B that I wear on most weekends. Comfortable, Casual and (IMHO) classy.
