They don't have a bricks and mortar shop but seem to be located in Beverley, East Yorkshire, UK.

They have a watch I am interested in but I am apprehensive of buying an expensive watch online.

Thanks

Just did a quick google search. The reviews are awful. Do not buy from him (he is known as Hardy). Also his website is copyright 2013. If a website is active it is updated every year so you know the content is current (i believe. Am i right on this?). Check out https://omegaforums.net/threads/scam...lection.39470/

Domostakikos-of course you are correct that there will be reputable dealers advertising through the big sites. The trouble is there will also be less reputable dealers and sellers using the sites as a cover for gear that isn’t up to scratch or even dare I say it downright fake. With vintage Rolex it’s a minefield-the devil is in the detail and there are plenty of people looking to rip others off.
That’s why trusted small sellars are so important as per this thread
Thank you Jonford and JTmed

Quite an eye opener reading those posts about Mr. Hardy. Thanks for saving me a 1000 pounds. And a ton of headaches.

BTW: I was looking at the 1943 Rolex Wellington. And if anyone has one they would like to sell, I'm in the market.

I was looking at the Oysterdate with the grey dial. Emailed twice, no reply. I posted on here as the description stated that the watch had an unusual 36mm case instead of the common 34mm. The reference is the 6694 that only came with a 34mm case. The replies, convinced me that the watch, or description wasn’t legit. Shame.

Icon14 Michael Morgan & ICONIC Watch Company

I just recently transacted with Michael Morgan (Michael M.) & ICONIC Watch Company and wanted to compliment him for the outstanding smooth and professional handling of the sale of a vintage Rolex watch.

I am no spring chicken and was very nervous going into a transaction like this online without meeting face to face. Michael was great in communicating the process step by step and what to expect. After doing my own due diligence (which everyone should allways do) to feel confortable with the sale and confirming the agreed upon sum, the transaction of receiving funds and sending him the watch was quick and without a hitch.

Well done! Thank you Michael & thank you TRF.

Have a look at crownsandchronos if you're interested in vintage watches, great service and watches are described perfectly, fledgling business but definitley headed in the right direction.

I was just there over the Christmas break and spend around 45 mins in Ponti. Ran by a father and son, I have not get a watch from them but they are anything but patient. Great collection of Rolex Subs 5512/5513 and 1675. The son also show me a bunch of Tudor vintages and his very own 16660 that turned into an absolutely beautiful eggplant bezel and pumpkin patina. (Unfortunately, not for sale)

There is another one called ‘the beautiful watch’ and looks like they have a great selection from their site/Chrono24. They were closed during my visit but they are just 5 mins from Ponti so I would recommend doing both.

Howard Fine Jewellers in Ottawa, Canada

Just leaving some positive feedback for Howard Jewellers in Ottawa, Canada. Their main watchmaker (Adam) and his apprentice (Jonathan) know vintage very well. Prices are a bit high and I've never bought a watch from them, but they're legit.

I recently bought a really nice Tudor oyster prince from a south african based company, CrownsandChronos https://www.ebay.com/sch/crownsandch...1&_ipg=&_from= (this is their ebay account)
The company does dials as well.
Just want to help this start up, really great service and a wide selection of watches and dials... not everything they have is on ebay as of yet.

Just wanted to contribute with my recommendation. Purchased my vintage Tudor from Truro Goldsmiths in Cornwall in June in great condition. In August something broke and i was unable to wind it. The watch came with a 3 month warranty and it was fixed no problem. Colin the owner uses his own watchmaker. He has a lot of quality peices, Rolex, Breitling, Cartier, Omega, JLC and i would buy from him again. He comes from a family of jewellers and has fantastic knowledge and is more than happy to engage in conversation, to try on watches etc. If anyone is in Cornwall, check him out. He doesnt have a website though, purely brick and mortar.

Has anybody had any experiences with Chrono.dk in Denmark?

http://www.chrono.dk/produkter/ure/rolex/

As far as I know, Thomas Fleron is the boss.

Thank you for any inputs!

Vintage Concept in HK, I have bought and swapped 5 vintage watches (1675, 1680, 1675 Gilt Ring PCG, 5513 gilt and Tutor 7016 Snowflake) with them, highly recommended in Hong Kong.

Quality Tyme-John BROZEK

John Brozek is an honest, knowledgeable vintage watch dealer. He specializes
in rare vintage watches, but his first passion is military time pieces.
Quality Tyme is a first rate shop. I purchased a Rolex Submariner
and a ladies Jubilee gold
datejust for my wife. First rate.

As an aside -he repaired George Bush, Sr Patek Phillipe when
the French factory wait time was 3 years. Something to consider.
A pleasure to deal with in St. Petersburg, FL. Hours by appointment. He has a site for review.

Regarding Benoit reeners- see my previous post.
Watch not as described, totally inadequate packaging leading to damage in transit.
Very poor communication.
Not a crook, but nowhere near what you would expect

Anyone ever bought from Bachmann & Scher based on Munich?

IG bachmann_scher

I’m looking for a Rolex Day-Date YG black dial 18078/18038

My first vintage purchase so I’m quite apprehensive.

Thank you.

I would like to vouch for:

Philippe Capurro of http://www.exoticwatches.net

I have once bought a fantastic piece from him. Great French Monsieur operating from Madrid.

Speaks English as an Englishman and is above all a true Gentleman.

Not the best, I got this info from a Brit friend.

You'll have to inspect the watch in the flesh.

I have bought via eBay a pair of very good endlinks from Oramundi in Sćo Paulo, Brazil.

The eBay/PayPal tandem will protect you...
