Hello from the midwest
Hello forum! I'm brand new here. i am a watch guy. Always have been. It's been the first thing I look at on a person for as long as I can remember. I own two Tag's and a Tissot. I want a Rolex. I'm stuck on pretty basic, thats just my style. Gold does not look right on me. I'm looking at the ever popular stainless Submariner or now a new favorite, the Perpetual Date steel. Very sharp.
My first question is new vs. pre-owned. WHat can I expect to pay? any discount percentage off list that is sort of standard? Any recommendations on a pre-owned seller? I'm new, bare with me please. Cheers. |

Hello :) I am also not one to be flashy, and i might be considered petite (for lack of a better term). I recently purchased my first Rolex (a stainless date model 15210). It was a very simple blue dial w/ arabic numerals and an engine turned bezel. I purchased this watch used from a reputable individual. If you do end up purchasing a used Rolex, try to find out some things about the watch: Service history is foremost, especially on older models, find out if the watch was a "daily" driver or kept on a watch winder, or if it sat in its box in a safe deposit box for a decade. I would also suggest asking the profession of the individual selling the watch, I purchased mine from a Biochemist @ Amgen who wore the watch 2 dozen times and kept it on a winder. My used experience was positive, but it was not without due diligence. Be sure to have at least one jeweler look at the watch also. Happy shopping! If you are patient, your Rolex will find you!!
