Agreed. Why? We get it...the laws of supply and demand aren’t in the watch enthusiast’s favor right now and haven’t been for a while.

While there very well may be some ADs that demonstrate the highest levels if integrity, the vast majority do...what does taking pictures of empty cases prove? I am sure most ADs are not thrilled with that scenario either.

All we need is the picture taker including his face for a complete display of emptiness selfie .

I can't remember the last time I saw any sports watches at an AD in WA. Everyone is trying to convince us the bubble is over but I'm not so sure looking at these photos.

I don't know why, but that picture just made me go into hysterics, my colleagues around me were worried. Honestly I just think it's comical that this is how Rolex is running business. I just purchased my first Seiko today, which was a welcomed change.

One thing I can commend Rolex in though is that many enthusiasts have diversified their collections.

Literally nothing interesting in Liverpool last weekend. Exclusively two tone datejusts and a couple of OPs and that was about it. Sales rep did say he was expecting more steel “soon” as the brand needs variety. Said steel DJ41 like hen’s teeth atm.

YMs and OPs seem to be slow movers - not unexpected. This should leave some room for a discount.

in my experience its the lack of other models that keep the discounts tight on what's there.

Possible, but if thats all thats on display there isn't a lot of incentive to be that generious

a lot of AD's are no discounts on anything SS . Including YM's.

This also makes sense ; taking the stance that empty shelves mean watches are selling like hot cakes, so the prospective customer should buy what's left ASAP and without a rebate. (Until said person comes back every other month, and still sees the same YMs linger in their shelves )

i think they turn them over pretty well for the most part, just not fast enough that the display is empty.

There is no words I would spare to the kind of AD who ask his customers to "bundle". You are killing the business. You are what will sink Rolex. Do they really think that advertising alone will make them able to sell expensive sport watches with pretty much all the same dial for a long time without easy availability? Enjoy the ride while you can, crook dealers, because it won't last. We all have seen a time when they could not give away the hulk. The DJ was popular in the 80's when TT was the rage, but it's not anymore. And we are just an economic crises away from sending a lot of these dealers where they belong.
