Well Toto has apologized for his disrespect of the FIA Prize Giving ceremony + his role pestering Masi during the Abu Dhabi race. But he will not take a direct call nor meet with MM.
TW admitted that Team Principles shouldn’t be doing the Comm. - just sporting directors should reach Race Directors and only with new information (rather than politicking). Now, the new President has the ball in his court about taking any action on HAM. Jean Todt is suggesting tolerance. IMHO, in light of the FIA investigation of the Abu Dhabi decision model in Race Control, “no further action necessary”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I've been into F1 before the Netflix series came out but I'm still a novice fan.
A question for you F1 experts. What impact will the move to 18" tyres have? |

Feedback from the drivers is that the cars are not as stable through the corners as the old formula and they're sliding more which, of course, leads to more tire degradation. Knowing these F1 engineers and aerodynamacists, they will find the downforce to stabilize their cars the closer we get to testing and then their final product in what hopefully will be Bahain on March 20, 2022. |

Degraded aero due to taller overall profile - but maybe 5% impact by the oversized front wing elements. Less tire oscillation due to narrower 18” sidewall profile when sliding off kerbs. It will take time for the drivers to manage chassis rotation since mechanical grip in 2022 will be more important. It’ll be hard to tell until Pirelli gives teams starting tire pressure ranges for warm fresh tires. Beyond the tires… The aero downforce will be less at the start of the season for leading cars (until MB & RB figure out the loopholes in the rules). So the tire deg may actually be better for cars following another one. Less dirty air should allow better carved apexes. Ross Brawn has warned teams about loophole hunting. Don’t know how he can enforce that unless Winter FIA training will inform officials to deal with tech transgressions more seriously than 2021. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I think it was his back-to-back 2017 GP3 & 2018 F2 Championships that led Williams to tap him as F1 driver in 2019 with KUB in the #1 car. He’s done very well in a middling budget team with 2021 having some sparks of brilliant driving. I do agree we shall have to see how he does this coming season in #2 slot. If he attacks as ROS did at MB to HAM + his fast-twitch muscles keeps him out of trouble in the new chassis, then his results could be stellar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

If Toto allows Russell to actually race Lewis, he'll give HAM he can handle and vice versa as Russell has never had a teammate like Lewis. Russell will have to adapt and become polished on how to race at the front and the nuances that comes along with that vs. starting from the rear and moving up. It's a win/win for Mercedes as IMO Russell is a better choice than Bottas. |

Mind blowing stat. But said another way, every F1 WDC after 1984 has raced against a member of the Schumacher family.

No surprise as Max Verstappen voted best driver by his fellow drivers as well as the F1 team bosses. Interesting list of top 10 though....
Norris had a great 1st half of the season, but not a great 2nd half. Sainz definitely shined, but don't know about LeClerc being as high this year. I would have rated Gasly higher. Finally, there must have been something the other drivers saw in the way Mick performed in the worst car on grid to put him at #10. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...gxtXoZmkCbXkJM POSITION DRIVER 1 Max Verstappen 2 Lewis Hamilton 3 Lando Norris 4 Carlos Sainz 5 Charles Leclerc 6 Fernando Alonso 7 Pierre Gasly 8 George Russell 9 Esteban Ocon 10 Mick Schumacher |

Seriously though… He didn’t screw up FP sessions as much as MAZ and had better situational awareness. SCH will do well if he can get a better car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I tend to take the voting by peers more seriously as they are there in and around each other all the time and see things that we will never see on TV. There's got to be something about Mick that stands out besides beating his teammate. Perhaps his work ethic, or technical knowledge, track presence or awareness?
Interestingly 2 names left off the list were Checo and Ricciardo. Bottas no where to be found either. |

That’s why I mentioned SCH being more mindful than MAZ.

He’s contracted through 2022 extension. But as for another WDC, the new chassis could be the decider.

I remember while living in NYC, one once said to me, 'leases like contracts are meant to be broken'... - tho that may be more suitable in real estate...may not apply here, but like anything else of late, It's all negotiable.
Personally, tho LH is miffed, I doubt he'd 'pull the plug'. Too much reputation at stake. (I know I wouldn't...) - But hey, ya never know.

having a contract to drive has NOTHING to do with it... retirement trumps all.
what the contract says is that he can not drive for anyone else... series OR team... unless a deal is made. LH doesn't need to drive. |

Lots of chatter around LH retiring. I can’t see it happening, but what do you guys think?
Seems to me like his legacy is forever tainted if he walks away tied for world championships. Everyone will speculate it’s because max is too much of a threat, blah blah. I always imagined Lewis would win another, and immediately retire. |
