Nice photos, especially with alternative straps. Here's my 114270 on a Hirsch black rubber strap for a change. Light and comfortable.

I enjoy a situation where my wife could care less what I spend my money on as long as I am not gambling, doing drugs, or fooling around. Notice I did not say anything about drinking, having season tickets to several sports, or more importantly buying watches.
Over the years I have had more Rolex Watches than I can count but I always come back to the Explorer 114270. Bought it...sold it...bought it...bla bla.
Recently, I thought about selling this one in the M to V range or maybe a 214270 which I also have owned, essentially decided against it.
Here is mine. Picture from a week or two ago in frigid 70 degree weather

I love the simplicity if this Rolex. The 39 mm looks and wears extremely well. Great pics on this thread, guys.

Wow Rick, I guess it proves the Explorer can be worn under a variety of circumstances. Hooah!

Upgraded to a 39mm.

Previously I enjoyed an 14270. It was a fantastic watch. I have a 7 inch wrist so it wore really well. The smaller size was sophisticated and classic...and it was time to upgrade.

The clasp is the best I've seen, inner dial ring is a welcome change, the fatter lugs give it an updated look...and I even like the hands. The hour and minute fit the look (yes they are bigger than the 36mm), and the second hand goes all the way to the second hashes. You have all seen it before, but this one in mine!

Awaiting this guy and hope it will be worth while owning. If it doesn't meet expectations it will go back. These watches are awesome and without a doubt my favorite in the Rolex line-up. Excuse the cheesy ebay photos. I'll add better ones if it stays.

You may wish to pop the bracelet off and check the model number inbetween the lugs because those hands are not correct for the Explorer. It may be a redialed 36mm Oyster Perpetual, or just an Explorer with OP hands. Either way, something is not right...

Something looks odd about the numerals on the dial too. Overly square? It might just be the quality of the pics though.
Hands are definitely incorrect. Should have Mercedes hands.

I thought that too, but it's kind of tough to tell from the pics. Also the dial text doesn't seem right, especially the "EXLORER" script

Yes I know; thanks. I apologize for the post. I finally realized I can remove the photo source so they're gone now.

Had a 14270 but sold it, and it was definitely a mistake. However, I just redeemed myself with a 1016, which I'm loving

I happily joined the club today purchasing the Explorer and spent the afternoon admiring my newly adorned wrist. What a beautiful balance of form and function---
