I assume he was just trolling, but if by some miracle, the OP has actually seen a silver 1675 in an auction, I hope he will post a link.

Somebody stringing somebody, that’s for sure. I thought it was OP stringing us, but now I think Rolex is stringing him. What do you think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am usually skeptical because so many people foist false narratives upon us here. But I believe the OP is genuinely sharing a unique find of his. So I wouldn't say "stringing" - the pace of new information is slow but... I believe OP is working to get authentication and Rolex is working in their restoration atelier at their pace. Patience will be required - especially when "1-post wonders" come along and stir the pot... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You’re right in saying that the Rolex Heritage dept will work at their own pace especially if it’s a unique watch like mine. So i have learned to be patient and just hope for the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is well said. I share your typical skepticism. Here, it does seem like there is a legitimate inquiry, and Rolex is taking an unbelievably long time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You can add me to the list of people genuinely rooting for the OP and a happy ending.
Unbelievable is the only word that comes to mind to describe the turnaround time for this authentication. I'm glad the OP is a young man, otherwise Rolex would owe him a good sum for damages derived from depriving him of the time he could be spending enjoying this watch. Hang in there, OP, good things come to those who wait - a negative response would surely have already come, if that was the case! |

I am amazed at the patience of the OP.
It takes what, 1 or 2 Rolex watchmakers a few hours, let's say a day to dismantle the watch, and then maybe a month to contact the dial makers to examine whether this particular dial could have been made by them. Then give it a month to gather the intel, and a good session with the experts to formulate an opinion. Either they can or they can not do the analysis asked for. By now Rolex are deliberately holding the watch as hostage, for no apparent reason. Because they can? I would not play that game, retrieve the watch and present it as is, along with the incapacity of a large watchmaker do deliver diligent work/expertise in reasonable timeframe. Shame on them. |

I agree with the above. The delay really serves no one but maybe they think OP might croak and the estate does not know about the watch...probably not, but an unreasonable wait time.

I don't infer any nefarious intent or incompetency at the historic restoration atelier.
It is a long process because other people's watches are in process ahead of the OPs. Many people don't realize the bench work can include fabricating parts for important watches. Much longer than the RSC doing modern overhauls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

77T you are correct.
However this depicts a very bad image of a company that is already quite impopular. And they don't care because they get away with it. How many YEARS now? Not with me. In the end it is all up to the OP's tolerance level for being given the runaround. |

My pals watch, an equally very rare 5510 dial, that took 5 yrs to confirm went in worth about £18k tops (as dial was suspect according to some sofa cognoscenti! ), and emerged five years later worth somewhere between £350-500k. Think Eric is well advised to sit on his hands, as he is, and not rock the good ship Geneva too much....

Are you now using 2FA? (two factor authentication) When the forum began offering support for that, I added it to my account and have been very pleased. I use Google Authenticator and highly recommend it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I don’t think its a 2FA. I just got an email from the administrator and had to update to a pledge member to recover my account. I still cannot open my account in tapatalk.

With the prevalence of scammer ploys to hijack TRF accounts (and on other forums) I'd suggest enabling 2FA.
It isn't anything the Mods do - it's something only you can do. An additional thought - if your previous TRF password was the same one you used on other online accounts - I'd change all of them - and make them unique rather than reuse same password across multiple sites.
