Yes, the thinner ones (like medical insurance that are like paper fit great on double up).

You can fit more than one, but I think it functions better with one per.
What did you order?

I know! Let's see how long it takes for the Paris Blue with yellow edging to come back in stock. If I get itchy, I may just order it without the yellow edging.

Looks good!

But what are your thoughts on the brand taking off? They have the history but look at Longines, same dice. I don't think they have economies of scale on their side (yet), and it shows on their product and selection of material.

I don't see why they wouldn't be interested in expanding to the US.

They certainly have room to increase the pricing of their products.

Goyards are all leather, even the lining, so I'm not quite sure these compare apples to apples.

You said the price with go up, was curious on why you think they are under priced. I think they are fairly and competitively priced as-is.

Stop it with the pics Paul!

It better not be discontinued

BTW, you have that thing stuffed! You might want to pair it down a bit. Maybe fold the bills in half instead of quarters.

Prices have already gone up several times over the past couple of years since they revamped the brand. Although there's nothing like raising the price to create the illusion of luxury/exclusivity, I doubt this can be sustained unless they achieve the same kind of cachet that other brands have at similar price points.

Good analogy. I see the rebirth of FLP as being similar to what Biver did with Blancpain (i.e. resurrecting a brand that has history attached to its name).

Yep, I agree. FLP was resurrected in its modern form and slogan "weapon of seduction" by a former Dior executive.

Construction is on par with other heavy hitters, but the material is so-so and the brand is still in its fledgling state with just 1 boutique. Country of manufacture is still blurry as their products no longer have an origin label - which suggests they've begun to outsource.

The price is however very fair with all things considered, and I'm quite pleased with the 2 wallets I just bought. I see it as supporting an independent European atelier to craft a very well made product without the luxury distribution markup.

Though to be fair, Tumi's construction is equivalent and at 1/2 the price, but I avoid Made in China commodities.

Until a horizontal expansion happens, I agree with your view that a price increase now will just stymie growth. So rest assure everyone else - until you see FLP in Beverly Hills or at your next layover, there likely won't be a drastic price increase.

Guys, I don't think anyone here gives a rats ass about pricing.

We are not buying these as investments

It's nothing more than something new, decent price and something a lot of us needed/wanted.

Prices go up, down, do nothing--no one cares

Agree completely with below post. Also, I am glad you are happy with your purchase, Tex. When we go to Beverly Hills on 5 Nov, we will visit Goyard and maybe pick up some of their goods. I like having different luxury brands, as does the wife.

LOL Paul you were the first to mention a price increase, I'm only offering my take on how I think this will play out.

Tl;dr - Quality is great at current price. For anyone on the fence, you won't regret it.
If price goes up, then you should consider an alternative as while the construction is good, the material/brand image wont justify a higher "luxury" tag.

Yes, I said that I think they could and should go up. I'm glad you can read.

If the price were 25% more I'd still buy one. I personally don't think Goyard is better--why? Because Goyard are a dime a dozen these days. I prefer more limited brands. It's simple. These guys don't need to track to Goyard pricing.

Man who knew someone would worry about this so much

Why bring up price increase then get worked up when two people offer an counter opinion?

It's a forum, people converse. No one attacked your statement or reacted in any ill manner.

Relax.

Also - my response was to Touring, if you don't like our topic, why quote both of us. Neither of us referred to this as an investment, why did you?

Don't worry so much... cuz dude, c'mon.

What part don't you understand?

If the price were 30% more I'd still buy one. I personally don't think Goyard is better--why? Because they are a dime a dozen these days. These guys don't need to track to Goyard pricing.

LOL stop trolling. Tumi and Faure Le Page should not be mentioned in the same breath.

Just because a KIA drives well and has a 100,000 mile warranty the conversation should not be part of a group of gentlemen describing a Mercedes.

I am hoping in all sincerity the tumi reference is a joke. It's a nice wallet. Not something that needs to be nit-picked for its durability or value vs something else.
