I think the black 7900V is special and allows for more strap options.

I don't think it's better than blue. Just different and good with red or black straps.

Side by side the blue is more stunning to me and if it were my only VC I'd always check the blue box first.

second gen was around for almost 12 years if I’m not Mistaken. Current gen has been around for less than half of that. So I doubt it.

I posted this recently in the general forums without much luck so thought this may be a better spot. I’m looking into the discontinued 37mm 2300v blue dial overseas and am interested in any thoughts from those who have experience with it. How it wears, color, etc. I know the seconds subdial is a turn off for some but I’m fine with that. 41mm is too big for me and 34.5mm feels a bit too small so I’m intrigued by this one. Unfortunately there’s not too much about it online. I Appreciate any input.

No because it’s an transitional upgrade.

Unlike Patak and AP who will D/c with minimal changes it’s going under the radar.

The new models will have XX20.
It’s thinner, on the DY and Chrono it’s more noticeable
Engraving has changed slightly
Bracelet tapers more
The quick release is upgraded to the one seen on the 4000v

However, Both boutiques I bought from know nothing about any of this, and it didn’t seem like they were being secretive about it.
I already put my name down for the DT just in case hahah

I can confirm that its 100% true. They implemented all the new upgrades from the retrograde to the "old" overseas.
And the minus 1.3mm on both the DT & chrono is a great improvement.

from my understanding, no change on the dial. It's just an upgrade of the current line up

Not sure what boutique you went into and your relationship with them but..

1) It’s true
2) I’ve seen them in the flesh
3) they’ve been sold already
4) everyone in VC does know about the new version

Btwistround: Have you tried one on? I've got very small wrists and I can still wear an Overseas. It doesn't look much bigger than a Rolex Submariner.

Los Angeles (BH) and Lisbon. I might not be as connected as I thought I was!

No worries though. I’m happy with my 7900v, if there aren’t new dials.
