Never had an undercrown shade, I've only had their maduro. How was it?

It is different in a good way. Almost all the cigars I smoke regularly are strong and have Habano or Corojo wrappers. There is a trend of late where cigar makers are taking strong cigars and putting mild Connecticut shade wrappers on them. It changes the flavor profile considerably. While I would not say the Undercrown shade is mild, it is more medium and you can taste the filler and binder more with the lighter wrapper. More nutty and less spice than the regular IMO. Touch of orange peel, coffee and nut notes.

Back in the 80's almost all the popular cigars were Connecticut shade wrappers. Cohiba red dot was considered strong back then and now they are barely medium. Cigars have gotten a lot stronger and more complex over the last 20 years. That is why--back in the day, smokers were crazy for Cubans as they were stronger and more complex, but I do not necessarily believe that anymore. All my favorite smokes come out of Nicaragua these days. Not to say I do not enjoy a Cuban or Dominican cigar too.

La Aroma de Cuba. Might be a 4 cigar day. Little bored before heading to the show.

Yes, not as much as the “Force Awakens” but still enjoyable.

Have not tried this one yet. Word on the street is that it is stronger. Any flavor details appreciated.

Most definitely worth a try. It is stronger yes, but the flavors transition pretty significantly throughout the smoke. It starts off pretty big and little peppery, a little hint of leather and cocoa on its aroma, and transitions with a somewhat creamy and cinnamon flavor that is really quite nice - aromas more like gingerbread and oatmeal-esque.

I’d say it is more of a medium - plus - in its overall flavor profile.

Very good!!
