Beautiful Patrimony!
Thanks! Yes I think the rose gold is more formal still. The 6119G is so beautiful though that it’s hard to see you would regret it! The one thing I forgot to consider is that there is a backup plan - if you get it and you do find it too formal, you can easily change the straps on these. A slightly more casual strap changes the details a lot and might actually make it work for your purposes. If you search for 6119 straps on google you can find a thread here with examples.

I have seen the gray dial one strap-swapped and it did look great (and more casual). I have not seen any rose gold strap swaps yet but if anybody has a pic to share that would be great.

Love my 5226g. Just got new deployant buckle and strap on and it’s even better. Lovely piece and can be had for not far over msrp on secondary market.

I recently picked up a 5226g… was wondering why the deployant makes it “even better” (as I was also considering getting one)?

Fits better and feels better to me. Easier to take on and off is a big plus as well. Pin buckle always makes me feel like when I’m taking it off, it’s going to fall to the floor. Not an issue with the deployant.

I just assumed for sale. It’s not a watch you can make any money on. Is Patek doing exhibitions? It was in the case with a 5524g and some other less demand stuff mostly ladies.

Do not believe it was for sale. They have several to look at but not much for sale.

Have Calatravas historically been gold pieces, predominantly? Wouldn’t a basic steel (without complications like 5212) and/or platinum (like previous 5196p) options be reasonable to have? This is something I’d like to see.

That one in particular is a light grey nubuck slim strap from Delugs.

And this one is from Molequin:

The 6119 in white gold and the dial in charcoal gray looks great on those straps. The vertical grained satin finish didn’t suit me but you showed a new side of the watch on those casual straps. Very much under the radar as well.

Mine is a 5119 in classic form

That’s hilarious. There’s not a dime to be made and yet they are still pretending. I didn’t even ask as I have spent too much already this year on unmentionables.

The Stern’s like to keep steel production to 20% of output. Whilst steel is the in demand metal these days, they say that once you go too far over to steel production it’s difficult to go back to being the best with precious metals.

Patek can sell what ever they produce so I guess they stick to their traditions. In this sense an owner can have trust in the brand insofar that they are sticking to values instead of chasing trends.

I suppose it’s cyclical, Nautaulis is the instagram watch for now, all it takes is a high profile celebrity to wear a classic Gold PP and the demand cycle for precious metals spins again.
