My dad alwaya said that his watches ticked away the seconds of his life. He wore his for close to 30years and no my brother and I wear them.
That is for me the only reason to buy a great watch.

And buy your first new to make it extra special.

I'm the same. I have a Daytona on my wrist, but I've been driving the same truck for the last 18 years. It's a jalopy now and looks horrible since the paint job started to go, but it fires up every time I start it. I hope to get a few more years out of it, as every dollar I spend on a vehicle is less that I can but towards paying down the house or put into the market.

Thanks for the word of encouragement.

I like the phase "his watch ticks away seconds of his life".

Yes, is a substantial purchase for a watch. I won't understand this purchase a year ago but now I come to realize I want one. Makes me happy.

Didn't want to open up another for the following question: What should I expect in terms of documentation when buying from a Rolex AD? I want to ensure I have everything to retain maximum resale value.

Thx

Box, papers and warranty card. Just ask them to be sure you have everything that you need and be sure to keep it all. I even have my receipt.

I'd look for an older 2 line 14060. Classic watch at an "affordable" price.

Highly recommend the Canadian Watch Collector (CWC) forum. It's a very tight, great watch community we have up here! You can definitely get whatever watch you are looking for from Canadian trusted sellers, where you won't have to worry about taxes, duties, etc.

Regardless, good luck with your search!
