Congrats Martin! Patek hit a home run with this one. Much much nicer IMO than the previous model. I LOVE the size and weight and height! Perfect more modern proportions! Gorgeous watch!

Martin, are you considering to add a deployment clasp instead of the tang that comes with it?

Incoming 5905P

And one more question for you, Martin: Did you consider the blue dial version? Did you see blue in person? If so, what were your thoughts between the two, and ultimately why did you go black? I've seen both, and I saw the blue first and thought for sure that would be the one, but having since seen the black, I would have a very difficult time choosing.

Thanks again everyone. When I saw the catalog pictures after Basel 2015 I wasn't convinced the watch was an improvement over the 5960P but after three days on my wrist I am now. For a thick and heavy watch it's quite balanced and comfortable. Stephen, I did see both blue and black, the black dial with the black day, date, and month apertures looked better to me than the blue with the white background date, date and month. I also don't like blue straps and that's what the blue version comes with. I'll probably get the deployant, the pin buckle is comfortable enough but I'm concerned about putting it on and taking it off, I'd feel more secure with the deployant. Patek did a great job with this watch, there's a lot to like, the finishing is fantastic, the lumed hands are better than I thought at first and each five minute marker has a lumed dot, and in terms of pricing it works in the context of their other complications. I like the 2016 annual calendar watches but not nearly as much as this one, they're too formal for my jeans and polo shirt lifestyle. I haven't worn a suit or a tie in ten years, last time was my daughters Bat Mitzvah and that one I gave to the Salvation Army. First sunny day I'll take some pictures and post them.

Definite beauty, Martin. Major congrats. I've tried on both the blue and black but it's really hard to get a feel for them under AD lighting. The black dial looks great--would be my choice, as well. More pics please

Awesome!

Had that black dial on a couple months ago - LOVE it.

Your comments are spot on - the size and presence is wonderful.

Congrats and enjoy!
