This is either AD BS to try to push sales of another watch (perhaps buy a Root Beer instead), or secondary sellers creating rumors to drive up prices. I have seen multiple Pepsis for sale on watch selling groups recently with 2023 marked warranty cards.

In 2019, the (strong) rumor was the Batman would be discontinued. The reference was indeed stopped. Rolex replaced it with a 126710BLNR.

If Rolex improves on the current Pepsi (and I'm not talking about Mk 1, 2, 3,...), the current reference might indeed be discontinued and no longer be shipped.

We need to stop believing every rumor we hear, about trouble with the red and blue ceramic bezel having halted production. Why would it only be the red and blue, not the blue and black, or the green, or the rootbeer? Also, other companies are producing homage watches with the same color ceramic bezel, without issues. If you want the BLRO, which is a high demand piece, and you are tired of waiting, just go grey….

I think there is enough anecdotal evidence to say that there is something up with the production of this watch. What that is, nobody has any idea.

As far as actually making the bezel I can see why it’s hard. All the other colors are paired with black, which is pretty easy do. You make the whole bezel the non black color and then make half black over it (this is an oversimplification, but you get the idea). Hard to do with red and blue, which is why it so often looks purple.

I got mine last month but it was by far the most difficult one to acquire. I have a very good relationship with our AD and both Black and White Daytonas were easier to acquire.

I won’t share the ‘what my AD said’ part other than to say they are few and far between depending on the size of your AD…

Who knows, but they already have discontinued the BLRO once before…

Right before Watches and Wonders this year when they released the new greener MK2 LV bezel on the Sub, there was a huge amount of deliveries of LV Subs on this board. There was even a thread about it.....which made sense that Rolex was pumping out all the old MK1 versions since they stopped production of it.

I would guess if the BLRO was being discontinued next year there would be a influx of them being delivered? But the same thing happened with the Hulk very few were being delivered before they ended production in 2020. So both scenarios could be true, we'll just have to wait till April for Watches and Wonders.

I gave up earlier this year on my new AD (since 2021) for one. Have been buying from local grey dealers. They all get their watches "through the back door of local ADs" and all 3 have been getting at least 1 per month.

I opted to pay a little more for a white gold last month. I had the option of a new steel in the low 20s or the gold in mid 30s.

I think when the grey dealer has the mgr's # of an AD that tells you everything lol

There was an uptick in posts for Hulk incomings from ADs in the months before its discontinuation. This was commented on at the time and speculation began about its possible demise, which turned out to be accurate. Not that they were raining down.

I received my BLRO on Jubilee a month ago. My SA was amazed to see one come in. She told me that she hadn’t seen one in months. The BLRO is amazing and I am so happy to own one.

I don't get this.

The 40 mm wears fantastic. No need to make this watch any bigger.

Rolex doesn't have production issues, they won't distribute a product they cant control. I think the BLRO is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Maybe they are looking at releasing a new variant of the GMT in a slightly redesigned case like the sub? Makes a lot of sense and explains the slow down on the current model.

They did. See the yellow OP.

But agree, the BLRO is another story, they can’t just discontinue it, hopefully will somehow sort it.

I agree Kat, just go grey if you want it that badly. I'll go grey just to have a Pepsi or Sprite or Daytona...Put up or shut up.

Here in US supply is very thin. Check out MODA page, they used to pop up all the time. I'm not sure if those 2023s were in US or ROW. "My AD said" they've only received 1 since last November and it was on oyster. It's a smaller AD so obviously they get fewer pieces.
Right now they get plenty of VTNR and Starbucks! they get more Starbucks than regular ND sub.
If they upgraded the bezel we should see more coming in early next year and if it's discontinued we will know by April W&Ws.

Asked my AD to list me for the blue dial today. BLROs of all varieties have been comparatively scarce this year. The only WG one received in 2023 was a meteorite. SS BLROs are arriving but in reduced numbers. He said that Rolex have been quite open about a slowing of BLRO insert production and QC issues have occured. Production has never stopped completely. Take that (or not) with whatever quantity of salt you prefer, I'm just throwing in my anecdotal feedback to add to the pool.

It's impossible to predict when my call will come in, but I'm on the list, happy to wait, and if immaculate used examples continue to lose value I may not need my AD at all.

I visited an AD this past week and they had a Pepsi came in with a MK3 bezel and he suspects with this new bezel the Pepsi will not be discontinued.

Here you go - he mentioned that the bezel is no longer all red and then dyed blue they changed that process for the mk3.

Shine a UV light on it for us all and that will soon tell you if that theory is BS or not

That's interesting. A UV light test would, err, shed some light on that.

Yes a UV light will tell you if it is an all red bezel. I’m guessing it will light up red and the story you were told is total bs. But would love some pics to be proven wrong!
