Looks like the consensus here is for the Sub-C. I've never given much thought to Longines but I have to admit, it is quite good looking.

Yep.

I would try to get the classic older model sub and the Tudor if your budget allows.

Hi,

I’m guessing that you have the two Rolex models that you want with the Datejust and the Explorer?
You do seem to be very tempted by the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue, so if it were me, then I would go for the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue.
But at the end of the day, I guess that you will make the right decision for you.
And as you say, this is the time now.
The only thing I can add is; does the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue call to you more than the Submariner? If it does, then I think you may have your answer?
Good luck with whatever decision you make and wear your new watch in good health.

Till next time…

The Laird

That's a good price for the SubC Date, but not such a good deal for the Tudor Heritage Chronograph. I would go with the SubC Date, and wait for the hype over the blue Heritage chronograph to die down.

The Longines doesn't really do anything for me... have you looked at the Longines Heritage Diver?

The Sub first, then the Tudor later. The Tudor will be my next watch, hopefully.

If it was my money I'll get a Tudor (BB in my case) and a Speedy Pro.

The speedy pro covers the chrono, the history, and the versatility. It's a must have watch IMO.
Good luck!

4. Try to find one of the last 14060m in new condition from one of the awesome sellers right here on the forum. This is the last of the original styled Rolex watches. Still has lug-holes, beautiful diagonal brushing across the top of the case lugs, aluminum bezel insert and that old bracelet that dates back decades (The same one I used to say was cheap and Rolex should redesign).

I think these choices will serve you best in building the foundation of your collection.

Good luck.

Chris
1.) <SKIP Longines.> I think I need a leather strap mechanical watch to instead of all the quartz watches for daily wear.
2.) <SKIP SUB C.> I respect your opinion.
3.) <SKIP Tudor, for now.> I agreed, but need to be done before the price raise up again.
4.) <Try to find one of the last 14060m> it's no doubt a stunner, but just out of my options.

That's why I consider THC + Longiness vs SubC, just because I want to get some buffer between up from Rolex to down to quartz watch, so THC and Longines maybe it can fill this empty. You know, from Mon to Fri to wear Rolex is not I want, too bored. Mon DJ, Tue Longines, Wed Explorer2, Thu THC, Fri get a rugged G-shock.

I tried this Longines' Diver in person, but not so good for my small wrist.

Hi,

It's running well and the chronograph feature has already come in very useful.

All the very best,

heritage diver is 42 and too big, but the tudor is okay?

anyway, i would either get the THC and save for a submariner (date or no date) or go straight to the submariner. forget that longines you mentioned....that's $1,800 you'll never see again.

(the diver, though, is pretty nice.)

I think the same diameter with different shape will bring out different result, something like 36" in B cup and 36" in D cup, you know that!
