That's definitely a poor way to conduct business. It still baffles me that Rolex in the long term sees all this as a good business plan to carry your brand for the next 20yrs plus. The actual enthusiasts that want your product are rudely turned away and told no you cant have it. Yet every grey has every popular model and multiples at that. Leading you to explore and purchase other brands. I understand wanting it to be exclusive but is it really. I can just go grey and get whatever for a premium.

Awful. I'm surprised they haven't lost their license.

Wow. I'd be soooooo pi**ed but at the same time coming from an A D with that reputation cant be to surprising I guess.
As far as what I'd do? As many have stated find another with a great S A and start a relationship. Get there cell if you can etc etc and start building a friendship. That sounds like a lot to do just to be able to spend thousands of dollars but that is the Rolex way/world today.

Razny, both downtown and Highland Park, is at least friendly in its rejections. Last time I called to see what was in stock downtown, the SA basically said "nothing here now, but c'mon in, fill out a contact form and we'll see what we can get you" (keep in mind, I mentioned OP34/36 in non-lacquer dials). My initial try, though, would be Tourneau boutique on Michigan Ave. They actually called me with an Explorer I (no purchase history, just a couple inquiries) back in May. Have seen some on here post semi-difficult-to-get pieces they bought there on here w/o history as well. |

Lol, this. It would have been very interesting to hear what happened if/when the AD realized the OP wasn’t the client they thought when he came in to pick up the sub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

But you requested the OP. You didn't request a sub.

I would go in and chat with the manager and SA to clear it up and discuss.

When she called back, she didn't say your name (or somebody else's name)?

Personally I would speak to the manager as well emphasizing what a poor customer experience that is and maybe even leave them a few negative reviews online.

OP, have you thought about moving to Texas or Florida? Just asking because, well... you know.

Call the AD back and ask for an appointment to come in to purchase 50 grand of diamonds and jewels. Then pause briefly and say, “I’m sorry. I meant to call another jeweler.”

Well, I guess you learned your lesson. Why would you question getting the Sub, just go slap your money down and run. I'm thinking you are never getting the watch you desire from that AD, unless it's by a mistaken call, look elsewhere.
