Huh, nah, I can't even notice it.

If this were my only Rolex, I’d send it back ASAP. If in a collection, I’d keep it and wear the heck out of it for 4.5 years then send it back.

I would like to open the bidding at 5,900....

Just kidding. It is however interesting to say the least.

I'm inclined towards photoshopped.

watchintime - dude, you HAVE to keep it. Besides, it looks good. I like the quirkiness. Plus, it will most probably be worth far more than the same, "normal" OP41 years from now.

You bought this from an AD?!!

I agree with the board - if you are comfortable it is genuine, it's a keeper.

That would annoy the f out of me. No way I'd be able to keep it. The 9-6-9 AK and 3-9-9 BB are kinda easy to miss and are something I can see somebody wanting for one reason or another. This is not.

Sorry I am confused but for those suggesting to keep it, would defective dial fetch higher price when selling?

The OP joins the forum in 2016, then waits 4 years to make up a story and post a photoshopped watch? What is wrong with you people? I 100% believe this to be a real Rolex QC F-up.

Some of the fanboys here can't imagine/accept that the great Rolex would ever make such a mistake. History has proven otherwise.

Edited to add...I don't think it will some day be worth a greatly enhanced value. It would be rather easy for someone with the requisite skills to reproduce such an error intentionally.

Nope. Real or fake, looks fake. Looks cheap. Maybe worth more money, but it is a reminder that Rolex is a mass produced watch maker with expected qc issues. I don’t buy watches to make $, so I’d get rid of that in a heartbeat. I’m not you though! If you like it, it’s definitely different, which too some can be collectible.

Keep us posted!

If it did then folks would be rearranging dial markers every other day.

Yes I did buy this from an AD. I sent him a text with the picture he said they would have it fixed right away. I was just seeing if it was worth keeping it as is.

Don’t keep it. It’s not like the 9/3 error on an air king. It’s asymmetric and looks like hell. You’ll also miss that 3pm job interview for CEO at Google.

If this weren't my only watch I'd keep it. If anything, it's a very effective proof point that there's no such thing as perfection. I wouldn't bet on a higher valuation, that could be a crap shoot and as always not the driving force behind buying or keeping watches for me.
