Wrist shots can be very misleading !
All photo credits @svorketter 4th June 2014
This is a 36 mm Sekonda alarm watch on svorketter's wrist ( Made in USSR late 80s)

Shot taken from 12 cm ( 5' )20cm ( 8' )29 cm ( 11.5' )44 cm. ( 17' )54 cm ( 21 ') Now side by side Take Home Message : Caution! Selfie wrist shots exaggerate size of watch !

You were happy with the watch until seeing a video that apparently tried to generalize watch fitting . So long as YOU are comfortable that’s all that really matters.
And yes it looks good to me.

Fine, lugs even fall within your wrist edges in that close on pic, you can probably wear 42mm as well.

Like it. Wear it. Who cares what somebody else says.

A Rolex is personal to you and tells your story. I wear a James Cameron DSSD everywhere. It’s my daily watch, except a Garmin Fenix I wear when mountain biking (In case of crash!)

My Rolex tells my story - I love the ocean, to dive, to surf, the outdoors. It’s a functional watch for an ocean fanatic! The blue dial reminds me of the ocean.

That’s my story. You have yours. Dont let some guy on Utube tell you your story. You tell Utube!

As Megan said wrist shots always look misleading and make almost any watch look large. If I used them as a gauge the only watch I'd be able to wear would be a 34mm one. The watch looks like it should. Perfect!!!!

Perfect size. If the lugs overhang your wrist significantly then perhaps that is a bit big.

a 36mm in a dress watch for you maybe, but not a sport watch.

this is funny. OP is happy, till watching youtube, then asks on a forum that has a multitude of threads that debate, ad nauseam, if 36mm is too small.... or feminine... or out of style....

So now again, DO YOU! If you're happy ROCK IT! 40mm, 36mm, 34mm any of them will work on your 7 in wrist. They all work on my 8 in wrist so you're fine OP.

You Tube is the devil.......... watch out.

That's a nice watch with the perfect size, but the lugs... The problem IMO is the oversized massive looking lugs. This problem is known by Rolex design team and they started to act by releasing the new Sea Dweller. Rolex may dominate 2018 Baselworld by Submariner series with new coherent lugs.

It's fine. However if it stays a problem you can't ignore try the Sd4k similar look and quality but wears smaller.

It's over simplistic but you get the ideaHere's another example of 36mm Expl like dial at 19cm ( 7.5' ) At 46 cm ( 18' ) See how the lug to lug distance shrinks All photo credits once again : @svorkoetter 4th June 2014

I'll be devil's advocate. Fit is important. You wouldn't wear a suit that was 2 sizes too big or too small. Or shoes, or t-shirt, or pants, or anything else. So why is the fit of a watch any less important? Just like all of the above, the way a watch looks and fits can change the way people perceive you. The question is, how much do you care? The amount that I care changes based on my mood and the situation.

Here's my general rule: I want the lugs to fit within the width of my wrist, but only so much that I can see part of the first lug (IE the bracelet wrapping around the wrist). In your case I see exactly that, so IMO the watch fits perfectly! :)
