I don’t know who this guy is, and I generally don’t like collaborations, but the new AP is pretty fabulous IMHO. I’ll never get it (don’t have the money, don’t have the connections).

Well he’s the baby daddy to one of the Kardashian clan girls Kylie Jenner who’s silly rich herself.
He has many popular/good songs over the last 5-7 years or so.
He’s a womanizer like many famous straight men.
And he seems to be famous enough for a luxury watch brand like AP to want his business.
I wouldn’t mind being able to say the same…good for him.
I like the collaboration watch they came up with.

Looks wise I like the watch, but speaking for myself the fact they're willing to collab with someone like this really cheapens the brand for me.

So many people with questionable actions are brand ambassadors.
It is not a deal breaker as a watch collector.

You guys are correct, Nike has collaborations with him. The one I’m aware of is AJ1 sneaker release.

I am amazed how many successful people here follow or even know about these supposedly famous people. If I took the time to learn things about these celebrities and musicians, I don’t think I would’ve been as successful in my own life. These strangers are of zero consequence to me. When a brand like AP does anything with them, it only weakens their status in my mind.

I’d say we’re near the end of the era for this type of collaboration. I’m sure there are a couple of more already in the pipeline but Ilaria Resta will likely seek a different approach going forward. We may also be disappointed with her choices, but they will be different.

I would tend to agree with your expectations.
These recent posts with strong opinions on both sides of the fence about the Cactus watch (and Scott) made me wonder about the spectrum of collaborations people on the forum would choose if they were in charge of AP, AND the reasons for their choices.
Perhaps a topic for another thread, but it would be an eye opener.

AP saw how hot the Travis scott Nike merch is and wanted to jump on the bandwagon. His shoes are some of the hardest to get and have a high resale value, AP saw that and wanted their share, if you ask me

Travis Scott is a terrible person and it's a shame AP is working with him...

Agree. As much as I love the Genta bracelet designs and the dial of the RO (though not so much the case sides), I have resigned that AP is just never going to be for me.

Interacting with people in the AP forum is another strong deterrent.

I have to agree. Which is why I think this specific watch can be a unicorn AP and totally collectible.

Discussions with Scott started long before the Nike collaboration. It is rather obvious that AP would have zero problems selling another 200 ceramic openworked QPs with or without this collab - and isn't the profit from the merchandise going to charity? I thought I heard something about that.

Travis has been working with Nike since 2017.

You’re telling me they have been working on this design for over 6 years? Doubtful. Where’d you get this info?!

I’m sure they sell all of their limited editions, without a problem, but these will be extra hot.

FHB said first contact was 4 years ago (in one of the linked youtube videos). Seems I'm uninformed about the timeline of Scott's success with Nike.

Quite tired to come across these kind of comments so often ... not knowing some of the most famous people in the world only demonstrates a lack of culture (yes, rap culture is a culture) and doesn't make you cool nor successfull.

Never boring when they keep screwing up. Not nearly as bad as Blancpain though. That's a complete train wreck.

No rocks here. I never saw the point of watching others live their dreams. Their success will never benefit me, my family or my neighbors. Best to focus on myself, my own success and my own dreams. I think for most people, that is a better recipe for success
