I have to tell you, I must have been the first to see this one at the boutique. I have never seen a Rolex presented like this. It came out of a plastic case! Seriously, I'm on my fourth one and the I really got a behind the scenes look before they actually had it ready to present in the green box. I was informed, and I have no reason to believe that they would tell me otherwise that they just received it Friday. I got the call yesterday to call ASAP if I wanted the Blue/Black GMT and they said it came at the same time. I was able to purchase it if I wanted so it wasn't pre-sold. Btw, it was at list just over $38K...I saw the tag....

"Expat" I think you are correct, that RED does not take well to the ceramic and that is the unique nature of the bezel and could also be the reason why the BLUE doesn't seem like BLUE to everyone else.

Ty is a great guy, I go into the store weekly and I have referred a bunch of clients their way but Zhanna called yesterday and got the commission today!

This piece is out of my price range for now. Once I finish my residency however this will go on a short list behind another Panerai and perhaps a yellow gold Day Day II.

So do the bezel colors change in different lighting conditions like the blue of the BLNR or not? Or are they pretty well set like on the aluminum bezel as represented on pictures? I happen to like the colors on the BLRO, but I love the chameleon effect on the BLNR.

Not really fond of this blue. I don't guess that is the same blue of the BLNR because it doesn't photograph like this, too bad

The BLUE stays BLUE and the RED stays RED but I'm just saying the high lights and my iPhone camera does not do it justice, it's a true RED and true BLUE.

saw one at the Vegas boutique in Caesars Palace over the weekend. $38,250 and defiantly has a "blurple" color to it. Out of my price range but an amazing piece.

Look...it's really , really , really nice...but is it 40k nice?
The Platona is...without a doubt it's special.
The WG sub with its blue dial etc looks great!
The platinum DD with its blue dial looks....great.

Although I love the idea of this...I can't help thinking it...just looks like a classic Pepsi but not quite right colors...I want to like this but something is bugging me. I've held off a Platona until this came out and from pics I'm underwhelmed , I must get to see in flesh!
Congrats everyone who's got one I'm conflicted...Platona now winning...I wanted to prefer the GMT ( have YG Sub ,YG Daytona , YG sub bluesy , now need a more discrete option)...Oh the dilemma of it all

Dilemma

IMHO, they are all awesome amazing special watches and to me obviously worth owning, however for the record in my opinion the Platona blows the doors off the others

NICE!

I was in Vegas two weeks ago and popped into the Rolex stores at both Caesers and the Wynn. I missed a Blue Deepsea by 1 day and the GMT II by 2 days, so they say, I was hoping to ship it back and save on sales tax. Tourneau had a 75th Anniversary and so did the boutique today, nice all together, great pieces my friend!

It's a phenomenal 25k watch. It will be correctly priced as such in a few years. Congrats to those who got it
