I've just read through this entire thread and read all of the replies.....some snobbish, some good and some very practical.
I don't know what to say.....so I won't!! Most of you are well aware of my intense and die-hard love for Rolex...so let's just leave it at that!! JJ

Orangeman, Women that see me get out the car will approach me. Most times they ask me my name and it seems like an icebreaker to mention the car. They glance at my Rolex or just look at it in the club. Very normal. Some women I would not have the courage to approach, but I use the leverage in my favor. I am not a fancy talker, but its fun and I have gotten lucky. I think I would borrow my bros car if I were to really meet that one special female and get to know her before I show her my daily driver. Thats waaay down the road. Its competitive in the dating world. Sometimes nothing.

For me it's simple... because I like them. Same goes for why I drive my cars or ride my bikes... I get enjoyment from them.

well.....the only people so far attracted by my Rolex are the somewhat overweight, going bald, middle aged men in my office who also wear Rolexes.
Am I doing something wrong? |

I am not saying I walk in a club with my wrist rolled up. I ask her her name and ask how shes doing if shes enjoying herself and give her compliments on the minium and it takes off from there....i let her talk and i listen. if i say something that makes her laugh then a rolex or nice car don't matter.

the kind of girl that would "bite" on cheap gimmicks as a car and a rolex is exactly the kind of girl his is looking to play with...nothing wrong with that

And you know what the irony of it all is? If you happen to wear this:
People will think you wear some unknown funny chronograph. If they see your Rolex, you are the man

I reckon I wear my SD, "because I can"..
When I wear it I know I've got a watch on, that reassuring chunky feel, the extra weight and the knowledge that I probably have to worry about it less than most other things! |

Why Rolex? Cause I can. Weird, but I used to buy watches to impress others. Working at an airport, I'd see many a Rolex and I'd think, yeah but I've got this or that watch in my collection. Finally, after spying a SS GMT II, I had to take the plunge. Never made a connection with watch like that before. Now, I don't give a hoot n hell if anyone is impressed or not. But I can tell you I sure am.

I love the simplicity and elegance of my DateJust... As I've said before, I think it's the perfect watch and I know many others up here feel the same about their Sport Rolexes... The DateJust is an oft-copied, timeless design... It just has an aura about it that I really like... I wear it for myself, not for anyone else or to impress anyone else... It smiles at me...
