They WILL do the dial swap. You will have to give your black dial to them and probably pay around 1500-2000 for it to be done.

I just called RSC Dallas this morning and they were explicit, no changes in sports models nor the SkyD, which is what I was calling about. Then NYC said the same thing. DJs are no problem. When I asked why, was told they know certain dials are in demand and they don’t want to diminish their value.

Switching dials on complicated pieces like chronographs is never a good idea.
You could end up causing more problems than it is worth |

Dial replacement via RSC question
Quote:
I don’t disagree with you. But... Like I said in post 22 back in July, Rolex can always change their policies. They had allowed some of these swaps via the RSC in the past, but they also have the right to change that policy later on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I've had RSCNY switch the champagne dial to a white dial on my 5 digit Daytona. They said they won't do for cosmetics but if there was a visual issue they would. I couldn't see the gold hands against the gold dial so they agreed to do it. It was several years ago and it was done during a full service. I think I had to pay for the dial as well.

FWIW, last week I contacted RSC Dallas about possibly changing to a different dial on a 2015+ DJ (from silver index to champagne index). They said normally it could be done in conjunction with full servicing of the watch. In some cases, if the inside of the watch looks fine to the tech, then it could be that they simply change the dial without performing the full service. New dial price = $600 and up.

Dial replacement via RSC question
Quote:
That sounds reasonable. A couple of things for our newer members to keep in mind: - The old dial is retained by the RSC. - If your watch is 4-5 years old or more, and hasn’t had an RSC overhaul yet, expect them to require that work in conjunction with the dial swap. - If your watch was pre-owned when you acquired, and without a service history, then there is always a chance the RSC may find aftermarket parts that must also be swapped out. None of the above is a surprise to our tenured members here - just sharing in spirit of communication before a new-ish member sends their watch to RSC for a swap. That's good to know. I was under the impression that an RSC will not work on a watch once they discover that aftermarket parts have been used.

RSC will not work on the watch IF you decline replacing the aftermarket parts - but they gladly replace them (at your expense) when parts are not genuine.
