I would only get the pepsi if i could do this to it! for leisure wear. You could keep the bracelet new, then if you want to flip it later you'll be selling a mint bracelet.

Both great and two of my favorite watches. Like another member mentioned, I feel like the IIC feels significantly more substantial than the Pepsi. Plus, I far prefer the bracelet on the IIC. Also, the Pepsi wears a lot smaller. In fact, compared to a lot of modern watches, it looks small.

HOWEVER, the Pepsi is SO iconic and gorgeous. Plus, you can always pick up a IIC later.

Tough decision, and in the end I don't think you can go wrong. Just make the one you don't choose now your next purchase.

I agree with getting the Pepsi, but $7K+ is well above the 2008 MSRP. I didn't think ADs were allowed to do that?

MSRP on an M series 16710, the last of the series, was $5750 with a 3186 movement (not to insinuate that 3186 had cost more).

I suspect the rational pic would be the IIC- price issue. Of course these decisions are rarely rational.

On the emotive side you have the current new "tech" package or a discontinued classic.

So what turns you on more-new or somewhat vintage?

I understand that pepsi's aren't being made anymore, but there are tons of them out there-so it's not like it's a rare piece. If it's the "new" pepsi that lights your fire go with that.

Alternately, go with the good deal GMT and get a better deal on the pepsi.

But, since these aren't rational- go with the one YOU want- you know what you want.

The price of the PEPSI you are looking at is Waaaaaayyyyyyy too high... I also flipped my Pepsi for a IIc. I love the way the IIc feels when I wear it As others have said it is a much more substantial watch and I agree the Pepsi wears small. I love the look of the classic but I wanted the IIc and thats what I got.

I would put them both on and see which felt better. Truth be told you will ALWAYS be able to get either one. THe Pepsi prices seem high IMO now and I think they will once again settle down. Just my .02

Well said Jason, i agree. All in all we obsess too much about resale when the true gift is smiling when seeing the watch on the wrist. I own both, but have rarely touched the pepsi since I bought the gmt2. My vote is with the ceramic...

On another note:

I'm thinking of doing this

I also prefer the added heft and size of the newer case...but for the Sub in SS..(and the GMT2C in TT)

If Dalip met that guy Chris, he would need a straight jacket/no access to his collection/a strong willed bank manager and no previous pre approved personal loans!!

GMTc because of the price. Having said that, I think you can get a Pepsi GMT in the aftermarket for a lower price point.
