It's quite a mighty price increase. Over 12k for a Deepsea?
Seriously like a previous poster said, I think Rolex are outpricing themselves.

Is the increase US only or is it world wide?
I believe tomorrow.

Wow 14060 like was said before is now 7500. Seems like you can get a very very nice watch with some complications for that price

Wow!(the 116710 now is almost $1200 more than what I paid from an AD in April 2011).

Don't know the MSRP's before so can't calculate the increase in %. Any idea?

Thanks for the heads up David!

Looks like there was a 7% increase or somewhere in that range.

Thanks for sharing. The Daytona for example has increased with 6.5% from last year (based on the 2011 price list above). An amount will double itself in a 10 year period with a rate of 7%. Get them while they are still cheap

ouch... what happened to the 116200, are they still made?

well, i'm definitely priced out for a new one now. besides making more money for the brand, high prices along with high serving fees help create an allusion of value and maintain high resale values for their watches. the trick for them is not to price their watches so higt that people walk away from the brand. simple price and demand. would be interesting to learn about their sales modeling and find out what prices they believe customer will still pay...

No wonder you could get a Rolex for a couple hundred in the 60s-70s.
Why even go that far, the SS Daytona was $9200 4 years ago. Now it's over $12k, for the same watch!!!
Nothing has changed, you just pay $4k more and walk away.

No doubt Rolex is a great brand of fine quality watches.
But there are other brands than Rolex.
The new Omega PO with the 8500 movement can be had for almost half the price of a DSSD not counting discounts where ADs discount Omegas more than Rolexes.
And the 8500 is one great movement

Or the PloProf can be had for a lot less than the DSSD.

The new price of the 116610 will be on par with IWC Ingenieur Mission Earth as an example

The SS Daytona is now not that far away from a Vacheron Constantin Overseas, and the VC is in a whole different league.

Rolex might lose it when the competition starts to get stiff. Breitling and Omega are already offering 4yrs of warranty for the in-house movements and Omega has a 2yr service warranty after the watch has seen a service while Rolex only offers 2yrs vs 1yr after service.

Agreed. I was not considering any other watches for my next purchase.

I am now going to look at several others as the increased cost for the same product does not work for me. And I am quite sure that Rolex is just laughing and thumbing their noses at me . . .

Wow, My 116613LB just went up in price by $1K since I got it two weeks ago...they told me the price increase was upcoming...oh well, just wait it out for the next one I guess. I'd be surprised if the other Swiss Watch companies didn't follow suit though. It seems like a pretty universal step across the board...

Well, my Rolex collection is now officially complete!

Not bad for a guy who just more or less stumbled into the world of luxury watches.

No they are not, they are doing exactly what ALL watch companies are doing. They normally increase prices once or twice a year, so no surprise at all. Again ALL of them are doing the same...just different times of year.

Demand is super strong in Asia, so they can do as they wish.

People will continue to buy price increase or not.
