I did not know it was second to LA in millionaires but doesn’t shock me. I work in real estate and let me tell you, there is a lot of money in Chicago. You definitely have a superb piece with your black Sub and should definitely hold you over…for ever if needed as for me personally, the Sub is the one watch I could own and be happy. Glad you put your name down. You never know!. Luck might come knocking on your door one day!.

I don't see it or sense it yet. Seems like some watches should return to dealer's cases soon, but the cases I see are empty at the moment.

Too many crazy rich asians here in Singapore.
The ridiculous Rolex AD game still at play.

Just because they’re in the window doesn’t mean they’re for sale, my AD has always had the so called hype models in the window!!

I certainly hope this is actually happening. It's a welcomed one too though I'm not getting my hopes up just yet...

Brit Pearce. She's as clueless now as she was when she made a video about how easy it is to get pandas at retail, people shouldn't buy them grey, and then soon after told the world her annual salary was around £25,000.

Different part of the world. Australian market here. It started getting hard to acquire the more desired pieces from around 2014 so yep 10 years.

Depends on where you are located. Where I am is a smaller market and so it is still hard to just walk in and get what you want.

It is still at play here in Australia too. But it is what it is. I’m looking forward to seeing what plays out.

YouTuber who wants more views says “it’s happening!” with “Rolex” in the video title.

How surprising.

Yes, and it's been going on here in OZ since the early 2000's.
The only difference is the world was more sane back then.

I dont think that the high prices from the secondary, ebay, chrono 24,this forums "trusted sellers",etc. is over yet. Maybe in 6-8 months there may be a small drop IMHO.

Re-Visit this again when there are multiple SS Sub dates in the showcase for walk-ins.

From the sounds of it, it shall be happening very very soon!!

Right now it’s just click bait and hype…will it ever happen? Maybe..

For now, in the US and Canada, I’m not seeing any full cases and whatever is readily available certainly isn’t anything desirable at all.

I feel Rolex will want to meet some of the demand, but they'd be stupid to go back to the days were someone walked out of an AD and their watch lost 30-40% of its value .
You only have to look at Omega prices and see that on a year-old used model you'd be lucky to get 50% back

Couldn’t agree more, and I’m sure most agree we don’t want that to happen either.

My AD offered me a PP nautilus annual calendar after my next Rolex purchase. So I guess it’s happening.

I saw this video on YouTube and it is boarder line click bait. I like Britt for her direct ways but to say that less than popular models being offered by retailers means it is over is at best a stretch. When you start seeing popular models, BLRO/BLNR/Daytona, etc. at retail in the case I will jump on board with it is over but we are a long way from that.

I went to the AD yesterday and for the first time in two years there were models available to anyone (mostly DJs). AD also seemed like willing to play ball for other models. I don't know if it's over but this is an improvement.

I'm technically new into the rolex games. Can more seasoned members tell me how were things back in 2018 or 2019? BLRO/BLNR/Subs available to anyone?

Why would Rolex care? Their sale is to the dealer, once the dealer has it in their store Rolex has been paid and plays no further part.
Also most models held their value well, and tracked steadily upwards with the annual price increases, which is good.
Used items should be less than new. Why do you expect a used item to be worth the same or more than a new item still in production?

Once watches are available at MSRP that means the Market Value is likely 10-15% less. This is how it was pre-covid, your neighborhood grey had good stock of BNIB watches with an easy discount. Only those who liked the AD chocolate and sparkly wine shopped there (ie. they were building a 'relationship')

I got a BLNR on Christmas Eve as a walk in, had bought an OP39 from the same AD 8 years previous.
