Polar, you already have SD43 and GMT II to satisfy the black dial option in your collection.

Black brings more drama, looks more like a manly tool.

TMHO of course.

And I like the floating hands.

The Polar gets my vote considering your current collection (SD43, GMT 16710, IWC Ingenieur, JLC MUT, Omega SMPO). I reckon that save (maybe) for the IWC and JLC MUT, the rest of your watches are black dials. The Polar will change it up a bit.

Good problem to have though! Cheers! :-)

Black ... I was in the same predicament but ultimately chose Black... Polar Dial makes it look like a “Clown Watch” just my 2 cents.

Hehe just messing with you. I have never seen an SS sport Rolex just hanging out in an AD case. But, obviously a matter of personal preference, but for it, it would be a no brainer. White dial all the way. Take a look at your Rolex collection, most all are black dials.

The white dial will only work if you actually like white dials - it doesn't matter how many black dial watches you already have.

Just got the Polar 1 week ago. Absolutely in love with it and getting compliments left right and center. Polar +1!

Both are great! I went white as I wasn't a big fan of the floating hands on the black and it's harder to find great white dial watches in general. The black parts of the hands don't 100% match the dial and it makes the hands look a bit stubby on the black. Good luck!

When I got mine, I thought I'd get the white because of all the hype about the polar. However, after seeing them side by side, I knew that I had to get the black.

Eventually I also owned the Polar but didn't like it as much as the black one so I moved it.

You will know once you see them side by side.

I went with the black coz it's reminiscent of the original 1655 Freccione.

They are both amazing but if I were to buy as a single watch then I'd probably go with the black. If I were buying to complement a collection, then I'd go white.

The polar is on my radar, and should provide a nice white dial alternative to my Exp1.

There is a lot to be said for both of them. You can't lose either way.

Your money, your watch, your choice.

<- I went white.

I remember struggling with that decision and I've owned both.
In the end, Polar is the one for me.

No wrong answer, white is more iconic, popular, keep better his price in the secondary market, and the black is a beauty. My choice: White.

EXPLORER 2: black vs white dial. Which one? HELP!

Tried on pretty much everything they had, managed to stop before reaching the ladies section.

Also a good opportunity for pictures. Any excuses are well worth.

Both are stunning, but in the long term, I think black is more versatile.

You can't go wrong, really! Great pics, btw!

If you wanted a 40mm version, I'd say go white/polar. But for the new version (42mm), I much prefer the black dial.
