Brilliant!

On topic, I almost wish watch sizes worked like shoe sizes, and you could get the one that fits you exactly...

A couple of years ago, IWC had a Ingenieur in 36mm, 40mm, 42mm and 45.5mm.

Rolex has watches in ladies, junior, 34mm, 36mm, 40mm datejusts. They also have a YM in ladies, midsize and mens sizes.

Definitely hope for more models from more brands to follow suit.

Even the smallest PO at 42mm looks too big on my wrist. Wish they made one around 40mm so small wristed Asian's like myself can also enjoy them! I know they make a ladies 37.5mm but that looks too small on my wrist!

This is an interesting point. The growth of China and India is always what I hear about why watches are getting so expensive these days. However, watches are also getting larger every year while Chinese (and maybe to a lesser degree) Indians tend to have small wrists. Do Chinese buyers actually like these huge watches, or is there a mismatch between what's being produced and what people want?

I could go for some smaller watches, that's for sure.

When I compared the 42mm and 45.5mm in store, the 42mm felt really small in comparison and I ended up getting the 45.5mm. After a few wears outside of the store however the 45.5mm began to feel massive and now I think I'm going to move on to a smaller watch

Felt the exact same way. Though, I never got any of their models. It's weird because if you compare the 42 with other 40mm watches or even if you use a caliper to measure it (without crown) you'll see it's actually closer to 40mm. But the height is the same as the 45.5. So, it looks too tall in my opinion. The 45.5, though more balanced looking, is definitely massive if you have wrists below 7 inches.

I'll agree with this. Though I don't have a rolex or a 40mm watch, I have 42mm Hamilton and it's larger than the PO, quite noticeably. I compared the 42 PO cal 2500 to the newer cal 8500 45.5, and I thought the 45.5 was HUGE.

It's a big difference because the 42mm wears small, smaller than an SMP, especially on a strap.

It doesn't just wear smaller, it actually is smaller. I was told by the sales lady that 42 includes the crown and the case is actually closer to 39.5-40mm. Weird...

I have a SMP Pro Chrono, took awhile to get used to it. Then I tried on the 45mm Planet Ocean Chrono today. Very nice but it felt like wearing a hockey puck, a very beautiful hockey puck, but much too large for me. And I'm not exactly small.

At least Omega hasn't yet gone to "Bigger" and "So Big You Need An 8 Inch Wrist To Wear It" (like IWC has).

The thing about the PO is that its really thick at about 16mm for both models.

I have almost 8" wrist. For me the 42mm is perfect for me. I tried in the 45.5mm and it was ok and looked fine. Everyone can make the choice about what watch fits them best but I just can't understand why some with wrists smaller than 6.5" wear watches like the DSSD, 45.5mm PO, 47mm PAMs, 48mm Brietling, etc. I just think in some cases it looks like the watch is wearing the person not the other way around.

I don't see the need.
Can someone explain. Does omega have an excess of 42mm cases that they are using up or something?
Marketing is the reason. If Omega did not have one of their most popular watches in the 42 mm size customers like myself may not purchase their watch and possibly opt for a watch that appropriately fits their wrist.
