I couldn't have cared less for a TT sports model a year ago, but now I have one on the way. Funny how your view of certain watches changes over time, guess I'm getting old!

I have a tt gmt and a tt daytona. I love them and its always special to wear them. I dont use them as everyday watches which helps keep them looking sharp. I would not wear a tt every day, I wear ss for daily wear.
The tt daytona is very sporty...as much as the gmt..

I only have three Rolex's...a Explorer II White , 16610LV and 16713...
Even though this sucker is older and has a few miles on it I get the most comments on it over the other two...especially at work but even with jeans, boots and old black t-shirt...it's almost old enough to be "cool vintage" to some age groups!

I think TT is all about how you wear it...do you dress like a old man? Then not only your watch is dated so are you!

You don't dress like an old man...so the watch doesn't look like an old man's!

I think your sort of right in what you say , but the sight of gold seems to send men crazy for it , like its done all through history ! so im guessing im gunna follow the gold rush !
All said and done theres just something you carnt explain with gold , it just has its own thing going on !

Just bought my first Rolex and after considering all options I went fo a 1999 16713 GMT with the gold & SS braclet. Absolutly love it, but now want the SS version as well to have the best of both worlds. Much prefer the older GMT's rather than the new ceramic versions. Feel the new watch has lost some of its elegence, it dosen't look as balanced as the older versions, the numbers on the dial look so large they make the overall look too busy. What's the view on this?

Great choice...I couldn't believe the deals out there on 16713's. Less money than the SS GMT's!

I got this for $3600 and it was worth every penny.

yes your correct in what you say the gmt ceramic does look quite busy { i have one } but in its favour its a very well built watch with new solid bracelet and new modern looking face , i got mine because i wear the hell out of them ! eat , sleep , and work in mine , i know most people treat theres with kid gloves but i bought mine to wear and not keep in the box as an investment i think the new ceramic gmt makes a excellent daily wearer watch .

I think choices in watches comes down to one's own personal taste so buy and wear what you like!!!

the 2-tone GMT-IIC is the first 2-tone watch I have ever liked. Except for the older blue sub.

I traded up my SS GMT to the TT - and love it !!!!

On cruises and all-inclusives where the majority of people are more of an affluent international crowd the most prevalent watch I see are two-tone Rolex subs and GMTs- it really is amazing how many you see- a distant second is Panerai

Get the TT GMT II.

I think the GMT II is not really a sports / tool watch. Its more of a funtional dressy watch for frequent travellers, travelling businessman, pilot etc. Gold adds a little prestige and contrast to the design while retaining the strength of the SS oyster case. I you want SS sports ROLEX for sporty looks, maybe get the SD or the Explorer 2.

16613 TT SUB with Blue dial. I think the TT Oyster bracelet does not look dated . The TT jubilee bracelet looks 1980s..........

To me personally, Sports models are about ruggedness. Presence of gold takes the ruggedness out of awatch and sissifies it to a great extent. THe divers all look awesome in SS. The 16613 = TT sub is abeautiful watch but all that bling kills the 'diver' look.

I disagree that the TT Jubilee looks dated...it all depends on who's wearing it.
And one day it will be "1980's" but the Date will be 2030 and it will be a 50 year old CLASSIC!!!!!
